hi, i am after some advice regarding lenses. I have currently got a tamron 70-300mm lens which is poorly and am looking to replace it. I do a fair bit of car related racing and some airshow photography so want something at least 300mm.

Two options i have been looking at are the sigma 28-300mm or a sigma 120-400mm

does anyone have any opinions or experiences with these lenses, or any other ideas or suggestions.

thanks

A minolta 100-300 apo gets good reviews if you can find one how much money have you to spend ?

I agree with this man, I have one and it does appear to be pretty sharp, even wide open @300mm. I paid £140 for it, and it was money well spent IMO.

The so called "big beercan" is also a well regarded 300mm zoom, and is similar money. After these, you are looking at the 70-300g, which Jessops had for £499 for a long time, but they are more than that now I think. As always, Dyxum is the place for reviews and samples.

budget wise it will be a case of the credit card is my friend, ill look into the minolta lenses thank you, any other suggestions anyone
