i have a sony a300 and have found a wireless trigger and reciever set for sony SLR's however the only thing that works with the sony is the trigger because all the recievers have basic one pin ends, now i thought that i would have to buy loads of adapters so they can fit sony flashguns and then i thought instead of buying the adapters and the flashes i could just buy some other brand such as the nikon sb-28's and have done with it. my question is, will the (insert brand here) still trigger even if there not the same brand, i do understand that i cant use ttl metering but i always use flash manually.

can anyone help.

Pretty tough reading there Luke. I think I get what you mean though, I've always had minotla/sony DSLRs and have used cheap **** ebay triggers and now skyports. I use an adaptor (fs1100 I think) one the camera to change the Sony hotshoe to an ISO one which I can then fit the ebay/skyport trigger on. I then use the recievers with a mix of Metz and Nikon flashguns.

Hope this helps

cheers for the responses,

i am definitely considering buying the set then, its quite a bargain at £20 and i do think its a bit expensive really when the only thing thats been sonyfied is the trigger, but beggers cant be choosers, im off to ebay now to write a list that i need.
