Hi everyone, Im looking for a flash and macro lens for my Sony Alpha and as a student I am on a tight budget. I was browsing Amazon earlier and came across these two products and wondered if they were any good? and if I would get much gain out of them. If not, I wondered if anyone else has anything similar. My main focus is a flash but a Macro lens would be nice.

Lens - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Opteka-Prof...4?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1264538701&sr=8-4

Thanks for the help.

Hi,

You could maybe try a reversing ring? The cheap as chips option which comes at a price, more difficult to use...

Or extension tubes? Slightly more expensive than the reversing ring

Macro lens: pretty pricey but its the business :)
I use the Tamron 90mm macro 1:1 - still getting to grips with it but its a great lens and doubles as a "portrait" lens thought its a tad slow on the AF

Hope this helps :)

The old Minolta 50mm f/2.8 macro is very nice and will work well on your A200.

I use this combo myself - you can probably pick up one used for around £150.

The Tamron 90mm is also superb, that'd be £200+.

Alternatively, you could look at getting a manual focus Tamron 90mm f/2.5 and using a Tamron Adaptall 2 to Sony / Minolta mount which is a fantastic (if unconventional) combination. You need to set your A200 to "M" mode for this to work.
