Hi Guys don't know if you can help

I have a Sony Alpha 300 and I came to use it yesterday and when I turned it on the screen went white with mixed colours :| Everyone would assume it was a cracked LCD but there is no damage what so ever to the camera and the screen is in great condition just a few scratches any ideas what is wrong and how I can fix it? I only have my olympus compact now :'(

Thanks in advance :)

is it a bios issue, does the camera bios need an update I wonder? I don't know too much about Sony

*sorry meant to say Firmware update not bios*

Hi Lescos I don't know maybe thanks

I wouldnt have thought that would cause a problem like that, wonder if there is a loose connection between the camera and the screen? Sorry I cant be much help.

Is it white in all modes - when taking a picture and doing playback? Can you take a picture of what it looks like when it is doing it, with your olympus?

Plus don's the Sony's have a lift and tilt back screen??, might be a lose wire somewhere there, only guessing mind you!!

It won't be a firmware update as there are none for the A300.

Sounds like your choices are to take it apart and wiggle some connectors to see if that sorts it out or get it repaired.
