Sony A700 stock anywhere?

I know of a ex display A700 in PC World for £275, I had a look, but it is in a very bad way.

LCD is just about completely scratched away, and the underside is very very badly scratched. Battery missing too

Nearly brought a tear to my eye

Would that be a first Jonesy

I paid £275 for mine from PC World just before Xmas. It was brand new and boxed, body only..

Also, got myself the 24-105mm Sony lens for £129 from Jessops to go with it.

Neither seem available at those prices any more though...

I guess in Manchester, there isn't anywhere that i can find that price for an A700
If so, please contact me though.

THanks

I managed to snag one of these in the end, really impressed (I'm a newbie it's a first DSLR). It was an ex-display model (but kept in a glass case). So I've a couple of questions.

Apart from someone putting their finger on the mirror/sensor is there anything else I should look for in terms of display damage?

I've been offered a 3 year warranty for £50, not usually something I'd take-up, wondered if it's worthwhile for DSLRs (not sure of the failure rates).

I'm considering a couple of 'starter' lenses the Sony Alpha SAL75300.AE 75-300mm F4.5-5.6 Lens (which seems reasonable for £100ish) and the Sony SAL30M28 30mm F2.8 Macro Lens.

*Curiously I've another a700 turning up, as the original supplier thought the courier had lost the first item. I can return or sell the second. If I sell, does it make more sense to split the camera/16-105 lens bundle? It'd be nice to make a slight profit & pay for the spare battery, case, screen protector etc..

Perspectives welcome.

Persectives welcome.

You're probably better splitting them, evilbay prices are circa £500 for the bosy and £350ish for the lens.
