I just bought a Sony A68 and I'm struggling with the use of the focus area? On my previous camera Sony A57 it's pretty straight forward (Wide, Zone, Local and Spot), but here on the A68 you can chose between, Wide, Zone, Center, Flexible spot, Expand Flexible Spot & Lock On AF.
Which one should I use for Landscape if you want the whole picture sharp? Should I go now for Wide or Expand Flexible Spot?

Thx!

I know, that's why I'm asking :)
I think I'll buy the book David Busch's Sony A68 see if that make me love this camera a bit more...
But in the mean time, still dunno which focus area to use...

Have you looked at the PDF it gives you detailed information on each type of focus area and how/when to use them. Also the focus is the same as the A77ii so there are vids on You tube explaining there use.

In order to get the whole picture sharp in a landscape it depends on the lens and aperture used rather than the focus method. On a landscape I tend to use center focus for the subject and recompose whilst holding the shutter button half way down, then it is a matter of getting the aperture right to give maximum Depth of Field. You can assign focus to one of the back buttons or put focus hold on with exposure lock. You can then use the DOF button to check what is in focus.

I did read the manual, but did not find the explanation clear enough! On my A57 I only had 15 focus points, so when I selected the bottom right Focus point I knew my whole picture would be sharp. (whether I am using my prime 17-50mm or wided lens at F9-F11)
And since there longer is a "Local" Focal point, it's more confusing which type to use if you see what I mean, still needs to get my hands on it :-) Only had it for 2 weeks and haven't had the chance to properly test the new camera yet...
Thanks!!!!
