HI and...
If there is an owners thread I'll just rename this one... but I couldn't see one so I thought I'd start one... with questions
I looked at the Nex 6 back in its day and decided to stick with MFT but I'm having a rethink. Anyway. I have a Sony A7 and MFT for when the A7 is too big or for when going into less camera friendly places and I'm thinking of ditching MFT for an A6xxx camera and as there aren't any camera shops any more (well, not here...) and I usually buy stuff on line I'd like to ask some questions.
1. My MFT kit is badly affected by shutter shock with some zooms which severely hampers their use. Do A6xxx cameras and lenses suffer shutter shock?
2. I assume that the electronic first curtain shutter helps here, am I right in thinking that A6xxx cameras have this?
3. These cameras don't have an electronic shutter do they?
4. I assume there's no way of shooting faster than 1/4000 sec?
5. I assume these cameras have DoF and exposure preview in all exposure modes just like my A7?
6. I assume also that it's possible to use auto ISO in manual mode and dial in exposure compensation thus altering the ISO whilst leaving the shutter and aperture settings the same?
and lastly...
One lens I'd really want is a 35mm equivalent, hopefully f1.8. I assume the options are...
- The big fat and expensive 24mm f1.8.
- The pancake 20mm f2.8.
- The Sigma 19mm f2.8.
As non of these fit the bill this is a stumbling block. The difference between equivalent 28, 30 and 35mm lenses may not matter to some but I find 28mm a bit too wide and I much prefer 35mm equivalent lenses and preferably compact ones but there isn't one and I assume we wont see one in the foreseeable future.
Looking at my wants, needs and issues I'm a bit on the edge right now. I really like the DoF and exposure preview in all modes that my A7 has and also the ability to dial in exposure compensation in manual exposure mode and I'd love all of these in a small form factor body (MFT doesn't offer these) but the 1/4000 max shutter speed and lack of a compact 35mm equivalent f1.8 lens put me off so I'm not sure what to do. Info and feedback may tip the balance
