hi
im looking to buy my first dslr and have been pretty interested in the sony alpha range. they seem to pretty cheap for what they offer and the image stablisation inside the camera seems a bonus.
my main question is- i have visited my local jessops to have a feel of the camera's. now the a230 and a330 felt too small for my big club hands. i did hold the new a500 and that felt a much better size for me. im looking at the a450 but jessops didnt have one in the store so the question is, what is the size of the a450 in comparison to the rest of the range i.e same is as a330, bigger smaller ect? (sorry quite long winded)
second question, is there any reasons why i should stay away from the sony range?
any help would be great thanks

I started with a Sony A200 (in the for sale section at the moment) and have recently upgraded to a A700. Would strongly recommend a Sony, got a really good second hand lens market that are cheap as they are from the older Minolta cameras.

i have a A550 and feels light at time but have just added teh grip and now it feel like it has some value

yeh the a500 felt a good wieght and size, but its hard to tell whether its going to be a similar size to the a500 or small like the a230 or a330?

Taken from www.sony.co.uk

A500:

Width (mm) 137

Height (mm) 104

Depth (mm) 84

A450:

Width (mm) 137

Height (mm) 104

Depth (mm) 81

I'd guess the 3mm difference comes from the A500's tilting screen so in reality they'll probably feel the same to hold.

thanks alot for that, me, the muppet never thought of doing that. that answers my question thanks
anyone have any reason why not to get a sony?
