Sony A380

Hi people total newbie here so my question is would the Sony A380 be a good starter/entry level cam? Thanks bailz

yes it will I started with a entry level Sony (a390) and worked my way up to an a65 and many many lenses

It has the most weird ergonomics ever (sony quickly gave up to that design). Make sure you handle one before you buy. The a350 is the same camera with better handling.

Also given current used prices you may be better off looking for a a450/500/550 for not much more money. Those have much newer sensors that are noise-free up to ISO1600 (better for low light shooting). the 350/380 series only handles noise well up to iso 400

Hi Bailz, How did you get on with the a380. I have just bought one, and like you were, am a total newby to photography. What extra equipment have you bought? I am considering a External Flash.... but not sure which one to go for. Any suggestions?
