sony a300 price

i have a sony a300 and two lenses the 18-70mm and 55-200mm, i waas thinking of changing to nikon or canon and was wondering how much i could get from this? i am thinking of selling and not determined so if you are interested please post or pm me your offers.

Find the new price for these pieces - the are still current and then knock a bit off.

But why do you want to change? Surely just use what you have and change in the future if you must when you have got the use out of the kit.

I couln't see you breaking even really, unless you also went second hand for the replacement nikon/canon.

canon and nikon lens of similarity(price-wise) to sony are no higher in quality.canon L lens and the nikon equivalent are very expensive indeed,and are "pro spec" lens.do a search on say,warehouse express..for similarly spec'd lens..and you'll see it makes sense

of course,that may well be true..but i was a little concerned with your statement regarding quality of canon/nikon lens to the sony lens.the sony kit lens is pretty good,and equal to the canon/nikon equivalent.if you want top quality lens from any manufacturer..you will have to be prepared to pay top buck for it...shame really as i would really like the 70-400 SSM G lens,but at over a grand...i'm gonna have to save

If you want some lens but don't have a bunch of money just get some of the older minolta mount lenses found on the bay - there's loads!

only official source of the A300 in the UK is Jessops & that kit is currently £480 new - but you can get the same with an A350 body for £500 elsewhere.
I would guess that you are looking at ~£360 or so.
There really is no need to change though as the A300 is a good camera & at that level there is nothing between any of them in image quality.
As for lenses there are Sony compatible lenses to cover any normal persons needs & probably 95% of any need for an APS-C/FF DSLR.
That extra 5% are very specialist, low volume & hence extremely expensive lenses. Even if you look at the more common of those e.g. the T/S or ultra tele photos you are probably talking £2k plus.
