Apologies if thi has been done to death allready- :help: But I'm new here and am after a bit of help..

I was given a Sony A200 for christmas, and wondered if anyone new of some good guide books on how to get the best out of it.. for a newbie like me..

Something really straightforward would be good... ( I'm an ex-squaddie, so bear with me.... )

Cheers all...

Have you tried the "for Dummies" range of books? They have a couple for digital photography.

Digital SLR Cameras and photography for Dummies or
Digital photography for Dummies...

I haven't read them yet but have them on order from WH Smith.

I found the manual very good for the A200 to be honest and certainly wouldn't bother buying a guide book specifically just for that camera. You'd be better offf buying a book like Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson which will explain the basics to you and also the settings he used to get the shots. This way anything you don't understand, you can look in the A200 manual to see how to get your camera in this set up.

If you want a guide book specifically for this camera then Ottakers have then as do Amazon.
