Hi all,
Hope you all had a great xmas!
My wife bought me a USB turntable that connects to pc and records vinyl to digital- I use a Sonos soundbar for all music in the house and I would like to connect the turntable to the sonos to play vinyl.
Is this possible? The turntable has line-outs on the back to connect to an amp and a usb port for the pc connection.
Thanks
Steve

Providing the output from the turntable is line out, rather than the output from the cartridge, then yes, you can feed that into the analogue input to your Sonos. I have used the analogue input for various devices - it works well.

Only problem with that is that the Playbar doesn't have the line inputs! So I was thinking I'll have to buy something else to connect to it.

Yes that would work but I would like to use it wireless from another room - what about the Sonos connect amps?

This is my kinda question, having literally just done this about an hour ago.

OK you have a few options

Playbar - you will need a TOSlink converter to do it on that. Not the best idea given you're already using if for your TV.

The connect:amp has a 2x phono input (I have this setup in the office room for my turntable)

The play:5 has inputs as well. In a stereo pair you effectively get two. HTH

Great thanks for that! Sounds like the wife's present will cost me big bucks!!

A lot of the USB turntables tend to be cheap and nasty and tear up your vinyl. Watch what you're buying.

Yes it's not hi-end hi-fi ! Sounds pretty good when played through the pc into Bose speakers! Good excuse to buy more Sonos stuff.......

I think the suggestion of using a CONNECT device is a good one - I play a number of devices into my Sonos system via such a device. Can I also add the tech support guys a Sonos are very good - might be worth talking to them as well
Hope that helps
James

Thanks James- although for the difference in price the play 5 seems better value as you get the speaker as well! Anybody got one for sale??

Was considering upgrading mine from the old shape to the new shape ones... Need to do the sums.

Take a look at the various Amazon sites outside of the U.K. But in EU.
