For the past 2 days I've had "You better, you bet" by The Who constantly in my head. It's driving me nuts. A) I've not heard this song for probably 30 years, and B) I ****ing hate it!!

Why does this happen????

Sorry... just feel better for ranting.

Anyone else get this?

No idea but it's called an ear worm I get it all the time too. Currently it's a couple of lines from Darkness on the Edge of Town (Springsteen) oops no it's not it's You better You bet by the Who thanks for that! :p

My pleasure.... so long as I stop hearing it now I've given it to you.

I don't hear songs or tunes in my head. Only voices.

I keep hearing "Demons" and "Polaroid" both by Imagine Dragons........ who incidentally are pretty good!

might be due to you secretly wanting to go to glastonbury ,to see them .anyway thanks i now have the 5.15 DOING CIRCUITS ROUND MY HEAD :bat: :bat:

I just wish I could have a song I actually LIKE in my head for a change.

This thread isn't helping. Mr Daltrey is still in residence.

I get this, it's usually the song that's on when my alarm goes off in the morning.

I force myself to sing a different song(in my head) and after a while it goes away :)

Aversion shock therapy is needed. You need to listen to Aqua Barbie girl all the way through :D

Things haven't reached such desperate levels yet.

Agado?

i have been practising Mad Season 'River of Deceit' and Pink Floyd 'Wish You Were Here' tne past couple of days so that is all i have in my head... what is worse is the lead work is very similar so I keep getting them mixed.. I guess this could be a good thing :)

Springsteen's Jungleland was in my nut for ages, this week after my daughter mentioned it, has been Bad Co's Shooting Star

Tunes changed now it's playing squeeze box grrrrrrrrrrrrr

White cliffs of Dover...Eric Johnson.
Driving me mental :runaway:

I would rather have that than listen to a work colleague who has started whistling Christmas tunes!

Steve.

Punch him. HARD. (Although we are apparently closer to next christmas than last...) If it's a her, get another her to punch her. HARD.

You can.. just think of another song.

I don't just have one song doing the rounds in my head, I have a whole jukebox :D

The only cure is to actually hear the song on the radio or somewhere.

The thing that annoys me about this, is that I could have a song in my head that I know VERY well, but my brain decides to just make me go over the same line or 2 lines over and over and over.

For example, yesterday, I had a song called 'The Garden' by Guns 'n' Roses in my head. Really like the song, but all day, instead of going through the whole song in my head (and I could do this as I know it very well), I just had the a small section that goes "Turned into my worst phobia, its a crazy mans utopia" ...over and over and over. This is part of the song thats actually sung by Alice Cooper (for those that dont know), so not only was the line going through my head, it was like I (my brain) was doing an impression of Alice Cooper also whilst singing it. My brain had a sore throat after a while.

My ears are still ringing from Wembley Stadium on Saturday night, but Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheep is the one song still going around in my head.

The worst ones are the theme tunes to children's programs. Particularly catch are Sarah & Duck (which I don't mind as I like it and love the show) and 64 Zoo Lane (which I hate).

Isnt the Sarah & Duck theme tune just some bloke going "Sarah and Duck" ...followed by a quack?

Not much of a tune. Wallykazam...now theres a tune  :$

Yes, which is what makes it so simple and yet so catchy. There's also a tuba in the background.
And it's not "some bloke" but Roger Allam. Legend.
