Sometimes words almost fail me

Leave them there and let nature take it's course.

Unless you're a sleepwalker...

I saw this story on the news this morning - www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-york-north-yorkshire-56232546

I often think some people should not be allowed in the countryside because they don't know how it works and how to behave, then there are people like these who I think should not be allowed out at all.

Dave

Looks like they thought they would not be visible from the cliff path though if the 'slip had gone' (were they hammering in the tent pegs?) that would have been the Darwin Award sorted :(

But seriously, it does beggar belief that some folk don't think!

To a certain extent I want to shrug my shoulders - people need to be able to do stupid dangerous stuff, and sometimes get away with it. But I also appreciate this is very bad from a coastguard etc POV and nobody wants to pick up the bodies from the beach, nor deal with the angry rellies who can't understand why they were allowed to kill themselves.

There's no doubt these people acted stupidly, if it wasn't for a child being involved it'd be bad enough but with a child? Staggering lunacy.

I do also worry that people will see this and other instances of stupidity and use them as justification for calling for every cliff edge and waters edge to be fenced off. TBH it's the fence off everything brigade that annoy me more than a few numb heads potentially tumbling to their doom.

Just stupid parents training their kid for its Darwin Award.

Stupidity - the second most common element in the Universe after Hydrogen.

Would that be the mysterious substance otherwise known as dork matter?

Thankfully the 'dork matter' is nicely in balance with the '& Mindy reaction' ;) :coat:

Reminds me of this recent incident. In the same vein and why it was important not to be out and about re Covid restrictions ,not just because of the risk of contagion but having an accident and putting more stress onto the NHS. These two climbers in the Lake District were breaking Covid rules. The accident experienced by the rescuer could have happened at any time but due to Covid restrictions the two from Liverpool/Leicester shouldn't have been there and the rescuer wouldn't have suffered life-changing injuries.
