I don't agree, but before I cast my vote, what is a "snap on"?

Painting is a technology - it's a method of getting an image on a canvas (or other medium). The result may or may not be art.

I think it was written to provoke exactly the sort of debate it will get.
 
Our lass wanted some tools so she could work on her bike, so I asked her what kind she wanted, she says I want some of them there sna....snaa......erm what do you call them......Snapped tools

Exactly. Photography, painting, sculpture, etc. are all mediums. They can sometimes be used to create art.
