Last Friday my business shipped its 60,000th lens. Two hours later, by a remarkable coincidence, we took our 60,000th order. I know that quite a few TP members are amongst our customers, so thanks everyone for your support.

One heck of a milestone ~ congrats on the growth & success :)

PS out of simple curiosity (if you are content to say) how many unique customers make up the 60,000 shipments?

Well deserved. I've hired a few times lately and the process could not be more straightforward or efficient. I've also had to use one or two of your competitors and it's just not the same (one was painful!)

Well done. Great to hear.

I can't say exactly, because we can't always tell whether or not two accounts with the same name are the same person. But as far as I can tell it's somewhere just over 21,000.

Im glad to be one of the 21,000.
Ive always had a fab experience with lenses for hire and will continue to use them indefinitely.

On a side note - any consideration for TP members discount

Never had occasion to use you, Stewart but always put LfH at the top of any list of recommendations.

Congratulations on the milestones. :D

Well, there was for a while with us early adopters of his company when he started up :D

Congrats - shall be in touch shortly with a lens rental request myself!

I'd like to do this. Just two practicalities to address:
1. To what extent should I try to ensure that such a discount would only be available to TP members? (And if so, how would I do that?)
2. To what extent should I try to ensure that such a discount would only be available to "genuine" TP members - i.e. excluding those who might have joined TP just to access the discount? (And if so, how would I do that?)

Yeah a tricky one, just like classifieds access on here it would be open to potential abuse.

And the related question I ask myself is, to what extent does that matter?

I mean, if non-members get hold of a discount code that's "supposed" to be for members only, and if they use it thinking they're going to get a good deal, and if they wouldn't have spent the money otherwise and if it's still profitable for me, then why do I care?

On the other hand, if it's "supposed" to be for members only, and it's seen to be open to abuse, how will they feel about that?

If members on here were after a discount code they could PM you on here for it - That way you would be able to tell, to a certain extent, if they were a long standing member or just someone who has joined looking for a cheaper rental

I suppose it comes down to whether you feel the effort works out financially viable for you

I think Keith's point hits the nail on the head.
What would be the financial loss to you (if any).
