Does anyone know if the starling murmuration has started yet at the Somerset Levels?
 
Yes they're beginning to "perform" BUT it can be unpredictable, also I'm not sure you'll get very close at the moment due to the floods!!
 
Thanks for the info was thinking about coming up for a few nights this week while I have the week off
 
I'd think you would be ok later in the week, forecast looks dry, so water levels may drop, today I couldn't cross the levels to the south of Wedmore as everything was underwater, starlings were sitting in the road as all the grassland was inundated!
 
The EA were dumping a lot of aater into the levels from various water courses during the deluge and of course it took a lot of the downpour too. As a local said to me today, the flood plain was doing its job.

Driving down towards Avalon yoday was interesting to say the least. More an inland sea than a lake!

Thanks for the info both have been trying to find out how waterlogged the levels were but couldn't find anything on the net
