Oooh! D60! I used to dream about having one of those exotic beasts. The paper I was on had given us D30s - not, most definitely not, 30Ds- 3MP, 2.5 fps if you were lucky, shutter lag you needed a calender for....and we did press work, sport and all, with them. Body cost around £15,000 (with 64K card) back around 2001. :)

Edit: Wrongly placed decimal point. That's £1,500, not £15,000. As you were.

The sad thing is, someone will trust in what he has written about them and buy them on that strength.

I doubt anyone who's in the market for old cameras will be conned. If you're looking to begin with, you know exactly what you're after.

IIRC, the D60 Canon nearly got me to change systems from Nikon way back then. Again IIRC, it was the first DSLR to drop through the grand ceiling and thus be vaguely affordable. However, after a visit to my favoured retailer and a fondle, I decided I still didn't like the way Canons felt in my hands so stuck with film for another year or 2 by which time the D70 was way cheaper and took my lenses etc!
