Has nicked my Landie :bang::bang: probably going to do a ram raid somewhere. Police asked if they catch them would I be prepared to attend court, I told them no just give me the name and address and I'll save the taxpayer some money. I'm so ********** angry.

Bastids......can't see the police being any help in finding it if they're as bad round your way as they are up here...

Mine was missing for two weeks and when I eventually found it (long story), it was parked in direct view of a cctv camera and had been for over a week :shake:

The only thing the police said was that these (Defenders) are usually stolen for a particular reason. I live in a cul de sac ffs and nobody saw a thing :bang:

Its either been nicked for the engine or summat more sinnister like you say a ram job, hope you get things sorted and find em and tie em to a tree and show em a proper ram job with said landie

Don' blame you for being angry, but these little *****s are not worth the effort required beating them up. They most likely will get away with a slap on the wrist even when caught red handed, where as if you gave them a slap then you'd get the full force of the law against you. I hate this ******** country!

Nothing worse.

I had my mint Series 1 escort turbo with 4000 miles on the clock stolen from my locked garage years ago, was the cleanest one I ever saw. Neighbours saw it being taken away on a trailer, never saw it again :( still gutted today...

Already resigned myself to not seeing it again, the only chance was that there was not much diesel in it so they may have been seen on cctv but that relies on the police having the time to check out all the local garages.

Bloke across the road actually saw it being driven away !! as I live in a cul de sac they had to turn it around and used his drive, the driver had shoulder length light brown hair and was wearing bright yellow gloves !! he thought I had lent it to one of my mates. FFS didn't the fact that he had gloves on stir a few braincells

Don't want to make things worse, but I had my car stolen 2 years ago and even thou I got it back and did the repair work myself so I didn't claim on my insurance my premium is still higher as they class it as an incident even thou there was no claim.
I know how you feel and it still makes me sick now when I have to pay out more money because some git stole my car through no fault of my own.
Hope you get things sorted.

Surely if you'd changed insurance company, as you hadn't claimed, a new company couldn't load your insurance. They only ask if you've claimed, had accidents or driving penalties pending.

Sorry to hear that mate! What goes around comes around. As the cretin who broke into my business 3 times in the same week found out. It took 18mths to find him. But I did.
As its been stolen now, it might be worth you putting the details of it up on hear and you then have a wide base of people who can keep an eye out for you.
Good look anyway.

Kev.

I thought that to, but I have a friend who works for an insurance company who was telling me that all insurance companies have access to a central database where all incidents are logged. Problem is a lot of insurance companies don't check it when you take out your insurance only when you claim!! So that way they get your money first!
Worst case scenario is if you claimed and they voided your insurance as you hadn't been honest you may get sued personally which could mean the loss of my house!!!
I know the above is in an extreme case and normally I'm not the type of guy who bothers with extended insurance and extras but on this occasion it made sense.

But you are being honest if you haven't made a claim. If anyone is being dishonest it is the insurance companies for loading your insurance. They want everything their way. Even if you have protected ncb, the second they know you have made a claim for whatever reason, your policy will be loaded.
What I find farcical is the loading they apply due to your job. This is all down to when someone makes a claim, they look at your profession and add your claim to the tally on that profession.
I'm a toolmaker by profession and I work in a factory. I can save at least £15 a year just by putting down factory worker instead of toolmaker.

I couldn't agree more, I hate the way that the insurance company always screws you over.
A lot of the comparison sites you use to get insurance quotes now ask if you have had any incidents and not just any claims, also its in insurance companies small print that you should inform them of anything you might think will effect your policy.
I don't agree with it, but knowing how insurance companies will use any loophole to get out of a claim I didn't think it worth the risk.

Just in case you see it although it's probably in bits on it's way to Poland now.
Of course it would happen over a bank holiday when you can't get in touch with anyone.

:agree: for a 13(?) year old truck it looks in brilliant condition (was gonna say nick then  maybe that was insensitive)

Hope you get it back, but as we all know PC Plod are next to useless, unless a camera gets pointed in their direction.

been told most of them end up in Poland, by all accounts they're expensive over there.
Took me 4 months to find one in that condition and 1 month for some lowlife scumbag to nick it, just wish I could get my hands on them and save the taxpayer some money !!

I had my challenge equipped '90 stolen. Never seen it since. Plod said that as LR's are nowt but big boy's mecchano sets it was probably boken for spares. I now drive a 1991 Discofairy. No b****r wants to nick it, even if I leave the keys in it!

That was yours? I saw it on various forums, such a nice looking car.

And to the OP, my sister had her car stolen last weekend. Such a *******.

Move to another one then!

Steve.

:agree:

if everyone that said they hate this country did something about it like buggering off somewhere else, then we wouldnt have an overcrowding problem :)

how did they nick it? did they brake into your house and get the keys?

then again if the people that lived here were allowed to do something to protect there property it wouldnt be a problem.

This is why I always remove cables/fuses from my older cars as they are so easy to break in to. Even top security can be overcome depending on the car, and with new cars they steal the keys.

Sorry to hear about your motor :(

I had my 90 stolen a couple of years ago. Police caught them red handed trying to steal a trailer with it when a neighbour (near the trailer) saw them.

I hope you get yours back...

PS.. I see you have a Mansfield Motors wheel cover - does Duncan still own MM?

Sorry, bought the Landie in Cranleigh  good result in getting yours back, hope I'm as lucky, also 'lost' a caravan 8yrs ago off the drive with my Disco parked in front of it, they actually dismantled the fence between us and our neighbours and took it across their drive to get it away, I live in a cul de sac in a village ffs !!

Got my £600 Kona bike stolen from outside my work place.
The CCTV of him taking it, and a witness to say that they see him ride past of a bike they know is mine.....isnt enough evidence to arrest the guy or try to get the bike back even though we have his name too. :cuckoo:

They still managed to cause a butt load of damage though - smashed a window to get in, even though you could unlock the door with a lollystick  Busted the steering column, caused some damage to the rear door and one of the rear wheelarches...
