I'm doing a wedding today and was due to leave in about twenty minutes to start shooting the bride getting ready at home (hair, make-up etc) but I've just had the bride on the phone who is very stressed. Apparently her hairdresser has just cancelled her (by text ) without giving any reason or apology. Luckily she has been able to find someone else at very short notice but she has to go to a salon which has thrown a spanner in the works as far as timings go.

I cannot imagine running a business or treating customers like that, I'd have to be on my deathbed to not turn up and even then I'd bust my balls to find a replacement.

unless there has been a death in the hairdressers family, there is no other excuse that can really wash for that. But to actually txt the bride on her wedding day to say you arent coming is highly unprofessional and downright rude. Poor bride must be in a real state to be let down like that.

I would be ****ing fuming. I would also tell everyone what she did, she doesnt deserve future bookings with that attitude :/

even if theyd had a death in the hairderessers family, i wouldnt send a bloody text.
god, thats appaling.

/\ I agree! What a total R'sole!
That is so un professional, and must have been a heart stopping / breaking moment For the bride
Glad she got sorted though, that, I guess was very lucky, especially on a Sunday!

Indeed, 2 sides of professionalism on show here, the original hairdressers total lack of it, and the salons total show of it, specially on a sunday at short notice !

And you still have time to post on TP.

How did it go ? just done 2 myself this weekend will post a few pics up as soon as ive sorted them. Difficult time of year with lack of light being the main factor as my services where at 3pm but God said "let there be light" for about half an hour for which i was grateful.

Seems to be the way of the world in this country at the moment (Sadly)

Discourteous and disrespectful behaviour is commonplace which is why I'm so cynical nowadays as I wasn't brought up like that. In fact I'd go to the extent of saying that those are two words (i.e. courtesy and respect) that will soon be removed from the Collins Dictionary in favour of scuzzer and low-life.

what a terrible thing to do at the last minute, it's a good job you are more than willing to help in this situation, top mark to you on being there for the big day, i hope it goes without any more hitches for you and them.

Damn, that's a crap attitude. Spread the word and make their name dirt!

How'd the wedding go? Did you manage to sort out an assistant?

It turns out the hairdresser had been on the lash the night before and sent a text to the bride at 9.15am on the day of the wedding to say she couldn't make it until 10.30pm (she was supposed to be there for 9.30), then sent another text 5 minutes later saying it would be 11am before she got there. As you can imagine this would screw up the timings and luckily it was sorted - very fortunate considering it was a Sunday.

Apart from that evrything went swimmingly, a long but very satisfying day.

If I was working for client and it relied on me being able to be somewhere a specific time I wouldn't be out on the lash the night before. I would want to be fresh and ready, not hung over and unprepared. :bang:

Pleased to hear it turned out well.

PS Not sure you meant 10:30pm.....:naughty:

EDIT: must type quicker, Fabs beat me to it.
