Last weekend I was bidding on an Iphone 4s and won it on ebay, they guy sends it out to me and all is well, packaged properly, as described, and all the bits and bobs there, so i stick in a sim card and try it and it works fine so I leave him positive feedback, he does the same for me and all is well.

Till Saturday this weekend just gone I receive an email from him asking if I would accept then cancellation request he was sending through, so he did not have to pay eBay fees.
Well I did not reply but waited for the request, sure enough it cam through on Sunday and I declined it and reported him to eBay.

Received another email from him today asking if he had upset me in some way as to why I would not accept the cancellation request.
So I sent him one back politely telling him that I would not be part of his fraud to eBay:nono:

The nerve of some people

Just hope he doesnt report it as lost, could be an expensive locked phone

I think if you had cancelled the ebay sale and he got his fees back, then had the phone locked by reporting it stolen then you wouldn't have a leg to stand on.

At least you still have some comeback.

You did the right thing.

I'm not saying it isn't fraud. Just saying I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

Is £15 or so quid really worth making you out to be a thief??? (not saying you are mind in any shape or form)

I know it would have to be a darn site more for me to go that far.

eBay and PayPal are robbing bar stewards so I would have no qualms ripping them off.

The terms 'thief', 'fraud' etc do not depend on the amount though.

What do you mean by that Gramps, I am having a blonde night tonight

I would assume he means if you thieve or defraud 10p £15 or £2,000,000 yuo are still a thief or Fraudster.

and the "you" is not directed at you.

I thought that s what it was, like said it was not a dig at anyone its just me having a bad day in the office type evening if that makes sense??

Thats technically what I was trying to say in my post about the £15 or so, its just not worth it.

At least if you paid by paypal you have up to 45 days of protection on the purchase if the seller tries reporting the phone lost to claim on his phone insurance (the phone would get blocked).

Basically by cancelling the sale it would become a "cash in hand" sale and you would literally be at the seller's mercy.

My policy on ebay is simply to ignore "stupid" emails such as the one you got from the seller.

There would be a high chance of him reporting the phone as "lost" if you went along with his plan as he would have nothing to loose and everything to gain.

I'd be the opposite. If it was a few thousand quid I'd stay right away from it.
