I just need to have a little rant!
Today I went to Hunstanton, which is just down the road and there was a VW show there. So out came the camera. On one of the campers was a nicely polished chrome badge where in the reflection you could see a yellow camper van. I thought ooo i'll give that one a try... next thing i know some absolutely ignorant woman shouts out for all to hear "why would anyone take a picture of a badge" in the most **** taking voice ever! I felt about the size of a pee when everyone turns to watch me and she sniggers off! I thought ARGGHH! And needed to rant about it!
 
The people were probably turning round to see who this ******** of a woman was. Hope you got your shot.
 
Ignorant too I dare say.

My partner did shout back "it's called art" and she did walk swiftly in the opposite direction but it had be stressed and annoyed for the rest of the afternoon!
 
"F off you tart!" would have done the trick, Im getting more and more tired of people gobbing off at people just going about their business, I understand we all want to take the moral highground, but that leaves us vunerable to embarrassment, so i say, shout back, "why would someone with an arse the size of you wear shorts like that?"

c'mon guys, I know you want to!

Some people are just born ignorant, I'm afraid and, as others said, people probably thought far worse of her than they did you - so, are you going to show us the shot?
 
Should have turned round and said " I didn't want to break my camera taking a picture of your f****** ugly mug "

Or just ignored the halfwit and carried on :D
 
Maybe SHE wanted you to take her picture! :lol::lol:

was it just a random woman? i find a lot of people like that at shows surrounding the VW scene, not picking on it... but if u dont fit in with the crowd of them they dont half make u want to stand out from them!

just ignore them, they obv have no clue what proper art is about, and should be educated in it until they realise that photography is more than just "taking pictures"

but +1 what micks put... wide angle lens would have made her run quickly away! haha
 
Think I saw you there !

Was a good show but travelled light with a LX2 instead of my DSLR, didn't think anything would be on !

i never did get my shot but just along the way got a shot of a nice shiny wheel hub with a beetle (the car) reflected in it

people like this do wind me up and i will be using the wide angle line next time!
 
in a situation like that I would confront them. Obviously not violently, but just put them on the spot to explain themselves. If they can't justify themselves then I would tell them where to go

"Most" people didn't. One person suggested a comment on her fat bottom, which is fair enough as just about every woman thinks hers is too big, whether it is or not. And another person suggested a wide angle lens comment. Again, a reasonable thing to say to a lot of British women.
 
A simple "it would make a more attractive photo than your face" is all she would have got out of me. :lol:
 
As Vipers real name is Tom i do hope he doesn't look like his avatar!! haha
