Hi all,

I've just been looking at buying some more stuff to go with my new a200 camera(this is starting to get expensive and I havent even got the camera yet hehe)

I'm looking at a few purchases and was wondering what everyones opinions is on them.

1. up i`m looking at getting Cokin H250A P-Series ND Grad Kit like these:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cokin-H250A...1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1230221436&sr=8-1

After reading understanding exposure it seems that ND grad filters are important for sorting out lighting issues.

2. Looking at geting some more glass. I was thinking of a 70-300 mm lens. The only thing is I'm not really sure what type of situation you need a lens like that for? Am I right in thinking its more for landscapes and long distance shots?

3. Would a Polarizing filter be a good purchase? Theres a set on amazon : http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-Alpha-...4?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1230222022&sr=8-4 will those be ok or should i spend more?

4. a wireless remote or a wired. i want to do night shots and read that I should be using a remote to take the pics to remove ant chance of judder

Basically I'm a complete beginner when it comes to this but I got some cash burning a hole in my pocket atm and wanna spend it. Out of the above purchases what ones would be best to start with. I`m wanting to take loads of different types of photes from landscapes, pictures of family and loads of different things.

Look at 7dayshop for your filters, considerable cheaper. Although I would also look at hitech filters as they are supposed to be better than Cokin and fit into Cokin holder.

A telephoto would be no good for landscape, you would need a wide angle for this. I would play with the camera abit, see what you like to shoot, before spending on a lens.

AS for a remote, I would go for wired, you can lock the exposure with these, something you cant do with a wireless. Also for these look at the eBay cheapies, perfectly functional for about a fiver.

As PD Barbs has said, I think you'll do well to spend some shooting with your new camera and learning which direction to move in, before splashing out ;)

Richard.

I have an A200 camera and a 70-300 lens

I use that lens for wildlife shots, mainly

It's a handy lens to have :)

the problem is I have some cash and its burning a hole in my pocket lol :D

Your right though I have brought my camera into work with me today and i`m gonna have a play with it during the day today and then I have tomorrow off work so i`m gonna go out somewhere to play :D

After getting the camera I think the first purchases will be a bigger neck strap and maybe a hand strap.
