Ive got a lowepro backpack at the moment but my recent additions in kit means it just cant cope any more so i have been looking down the man bag route.

Ive kind of settled on a Crumpler Pretty Boy XXXL does anyone have one of these and what sort of gear does it fit in ? on the website it says 2 camera bodies and 6 lenses but id like to find out if this is accurate or just manufacturers being a little on the hopeful side

cheers

I can get a D200 with grip and lens attached ( currently 18-200vr) an SB800 flash and another lens ( Sigma 105) in my XXXL, and its full, I guess you could get 2 bodies and 6 small lenses in, but none attached.
Theres a pocket at the front for spare batteries, filters etc.
Its a pretty cool bag too. I went for olive green, brighter colours were a bit much for me for my first manbag!

I got a Pretty Boy XXXL for my birthday and I must say I am very impressed with the quality. I wanted a bag that I could take traveling and was quite inconspicuous and this fits the bill perfectly  I got the olive one as well BTW

You get loads of dividers inside and for something that looks fairly small from the outside you can fit a suprising amount of equipment in there. However I think Crumplers claim of 2 bodies and 6 lenses is slightly optimistic  If you did fit all that in there it would certainly be a tight squeeze to say the least. I would be afraid to open the bag and take something out on the fly for fear of other things falling out all over the place. One of the main reasons I wanted this bag was for its easy access. I find with a backpack, depending on what type you have, you have to take it off, set it down, open the thing etc etc. With the Pretty Boy the bag sits at your hip so its very easy to just open the bag and grab your camera for those on the fly shots. I much prefer to use a hand strap rather than a neck strap so the camera is never hanging around my neck anyway.

The velcro on the bag is also quite strong and theres a buckle for added "theftproofness"...If someone tried to open the bag and take something you would know about it...

Overall im quite happy with it...:)

yep, I've got one of these as well...have my 40d, 70-300, 17-85, 50mm, flash, batteries, filters and cables in there.

nice and comfy to wear on a days walking/togging - I'm looking for something a little bigger for those days I need to take food and additional clothing along as well, something along the lines of the Crumpler Daily XL seems good.

i think im gonna take the plunge and get one of these although im dubious it will fit all my gear in (Nikon d70's with sigma 17-70mm f2.8 attatched nikon d40 body 18-55mm a 55-200mm vr nifty 50 batteries cables memory cards etc)

It might be alright as an everyday walk about bag with ease of access being priority

the review posted was very helpful thanx :)

Cheers
