Just been directed to this Dutch newspapers magazine:
http://www.hetkontakt.nl/fotowedstrijd/nominaties

As you can see they are running a photo comp with a prize of €250. Some of you may notice the lamb photo....for those that don't, it's mine, however I didn't enter this competition! Seriously unimpressed!

I've mailed all the editors listed in the contact us page so lets see what they reply with, or who replies. Also want to find out who entered the competition with my image as I have a few choice words for them as well!!!:nono:

could be worse.. you could win a holiday and find your supposed to be under 14 when you get there..... :)

You won countryfile with that didn't you? Ah I would have called them something worse than a sod, but because I'm a lady I'll keep my mouth shut. :D

Hope you get it sorted.

  superb KIPAX!
What a great episode :D

That is very norty. Hopefully the magazine will promptly remove and maybe point you in direction of person who submitted it incase they are stealing more work.

I'm sure I remember that pic. Taken quite a while ago if I remember right. It's a great capture and deserves to win but under your name not the low life who pinched it. Hope you get it sorted.

That's outrageous, a woman keeping her mouth shut ;)

It is also a very poor pixelated copy, which should also have alerted the editors.

Probably cloned the photo to take out the copyright in the EXIF data no doubt :nono:

There's always two sides to a story so really, we don't know who took this photo!

That really is taking the p££s.

On a positive note it won the April round it looks like, maybe you can claim something for both the use and the prize?

U kunt foto's uploaden tot 24 april en stemmen van 24 april tot 30 april.

Pretty sure the first two words would be fitting in your email

Now that's funny

Not sure I'd want my name mentioned in a 'Kontact' magazine! Could be Swingers Weekly next :)

This is going to be preying on my mind all week now until the weekend. All I can think of is a nice juicy leg slow roasted so it falls off the bone. Crispy roast potatoes, cheese and onion mash, a few vegetables, thick gravy, and mint sauce [the jelly kind].

A lovely picture, it deserved to win a prize. I recognised it from Countryfile.

I'd be furious that it had been entered by someone else. But TWO other people????? That's just bonkers. You'd think the magazine (?) would have noticed.

I see the other version only reached no 29 in the charts.....

It just goes to show how much of a problem these competitions are that 2 people have entered the same competition using the same stolen picture.

that is really bad

Id rather get out there and win with my own work but guess some people want to win at all costs

would be really interested in hearing how this is resolved

wonder if it would be worth contacting country file as well to say its been stolen as they put it on the public domain

Hope you got a signed model release form from the mother.

can't take this thread seriously ! . so many laughs .

sorry ! :D

O/P - I hope the problem will be sorted out soon .

Trouble is, the image has been doing the rounds with my watermark removed since before it was on Countryfile, so I'd have no way of proving it was taken from BBC use of it.

This sort of thing probably happens all the time without us all knowing it

Someone from Flickr told me a shot of busker had been seen somewhere, couldn't remember where though... Depressing to see this being entered in a comp.. I hope you track down those responsible..

On another note, it has been known for the BBC to sell photos entered in it's competitions in other countries..... Which is why I will never enter one.

have to read the small print . 90% of them says - we get the copyrights ! :( . unfortunately.

It then makes you wonder how many of them might have won a competition with a stolen photo.

If it was in this country the organisers could make a complaint to the police as they have paid out a prize so it is fraudulent. I am sure that there will be a similar law in the country running the competition so the culprit might not get away with it.
