Lassa's work is superb. And as inspiration to many on here, he's an amateur (well, he's not a pro anyway)

His polar bear with rim lighting was a section winner in Wildlife Photographer of the Year last year.
 
My favourite shot of his is not actually on his website, I don't know why?

It was some sort of raptor with a large salmon in it's talons. There are some similar on the website, but not my favourite one.
 
He also lives (don't know if he still does) on the North East Coast (near Redcar I believe).

He originally focussed on landscapes, but found his true vision with bird photography, of which he is masterful.
