I currently own Elinchrom D-Lite 4 kit consisting of two heads with softboxes.
I'm looking into getting some sort of background I can transport around for use on home portraits, preferably for both head shots and full standing up style so width and height I have to take into consideration.
The last thing I want to do is spend a little on a white/black background with support because someone on ebay thinks its a great buy, only to be disappointed a week later thinking I now have to purchase yet another version costing even more, when I should have spent the "little more in the first place".
However, I also need some advice on my lighting to be accounted for. Shooting at peoples homes (usually living room) I am currently using an second hand Projector screen stand. I found it by chance and have benefited from the front white screen and turning it around it becomes a black one. Very handy for me taking a head shot only as it covers ample area and using one of my Elinchrom lights behind the subject facing the white screen works perfect as it only requires a little touch up in Lightroom to finish off. Result each time are great.
However I am concious that if I require a family of 4 or more to be shot, not only will I not have the room but using only 1 light behind is not sufficient as I really need two either side for an overall balanced light.
So I need advice on both a background suitable for this type of work, suggestions from experience on types of background, ie: are the new large pop up style any good or traditional drops on stands better, material etc.
I also need advice on a couple more lights sufficient enough to give me an overall lit area behind. Nothing too expensive as on a tight budget and the Elinchroms cost a small fortune on their own. I would like to use both my Elinchroms from the front/side from this type of setup being the better quality
