After the mobo died due to a short out on the PCI-e power pins, (which is not covered under warranty), I've ordered a new board, hopefully I will have Julie running again at the end of the week

You have a name for your computer?

yep she's called Julie

Lauren has had to take her place for the moment until she is mended

Lauren is an Apple Macbook, currently running in closed lid mode

My toaster's called Ralphie.

The computer still doesn't have a name :/

Did the motherboard have a name or is it just the pc? Surely if you replace Julie's motherboard you need to give her a new name!

Mine is called Hermes.... and my camera is normally called Little Hermes or LittleH for short :tumbleweed:

Good news, Julie's power supply survived, works ok

My PC is called Gaspode. I've never thought about naming any other electrical appliances though. I think I'll call my TV Mildred.

it smoked because of a short out on the pci-e slot that the sound card was plugged into, not sure whether the sound card did that or not,

they won't warranty it because they class that as user error (even though I installed it properly and it has been running fine for the last few months :bang: )

Update,

Julie's motherboard arrived today, the system is built, just needs the E-ATX Power connector so the touch switch works on my case

My camera is called 'Ahh for ******s sake' :D

Update:

still waiting for the offending patch cable,

leak test done and passed :)

fan controller re-installed, cable management done

:)

she's running, all systems 100% operational :D

all files intact and no reload required
