I have been using a few free photo editing tools but feel I now want to buy a real one and get to grips with it.

Which one should I buy? Adobe Lightroom or similar. Also will they come with a tutorial of some form?

Many thanks.

Adam.

Budget is around £100. Appreciate some are far far more expensive.

Yep, LR4 is £105 is at the moment, and worth double that IMO.
Loads of tutorials on youtube, including some of my own from my website.

Its so simple to use though, literally a case of moving some sliders. Not only does it edit, but it also stores, catalougues and manages you entire image library.

Excellent will look into that then.

I want to start shooting in RAW but the canon software I have seems hard to follow and GIMP n Paint.net don't seem to have instructions as you go through the process they are separate.

You can download a free 30 day trial from the adobe website before spending any money to see if you like it.
