software for raw on laptop

I usually PP in photoshop on my desk top at home ,for my hols a laptop is going with us for the kids.
It isnt upto photoshop ,so what free software can I put on it to process some Raw shots from my Sony A300 just to free up my memory cards if I get carried away .

Faststone image viewer my fit the bill. You can do basic editing and resizing of most raw files.

I use it on my old Mobile Centrino and it does all I need it to do

Also try out instant jpeg from raw. not really a proper raw converter but it does extract the jpeg out of it, handy and very quick if you just need to view the image or email or web post.

irfanview will open and let you save as jpg

And if you're thinking of dumping all your holiday photos on to a hard drive then think about a backup strategy. Or you could be having a few regrets.
