Hi

I have been using CS3 for a while, only for very basic operations. I have just been bequeathed a Canon 5D Mk3 and I cant open raw images in CS3. I am looking at changing my software and wondered if any of you could give me some advice.
I am looking at:
Adobe Photoshop Extended CS6 Student and Teacher Edition

or

Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 & Adobe Premiere Elements 11

Not sure what the differences are, except price.

Any guidance, much appreciated.

Thanks
Neil

Get CS6 (student/teacher). It's cheap (compared to the full price), and you have an industry standard. Elements is a cut down consumer version. Works OK, but many features missing. Whether you need those features is up to you.

If you buy from the Adobe educational store though, I don't think you can upgrade.. you have to buy it again if you want a newer version.

Yep.. I just assumed that was the case here. You need to provide a valid .ac.uk e-mail address as everything will be sent there... or did.. no idea if that's still the case. I get given a license for free so it's all done for me.

you need more than an email to get a student/academic license

Like I said... that's all you used to have to provide. I just get one given to me now so I'm around 4 years out of date perhaps.

from aAdobe website:

Proof of eligibility

You will be required to submit a valid copy of academic identification in order to purchase from the Adobe Education Store. You will receive your product only after receipt and validation of your identification. For more information, see the proof of academic ID page.
Get full details on eligibility for all Adobe education discounts for students, teachers, staff, educational establishments, and charities.

Just upgraded my daughters ST edition of LR through adobe, so not sure that's correct? Maybe different rules for CS6 though
