Hi, I am new to this site so hello all and hope you all have a good new year.
I would like to ask a question on sharpness with my eos20d using a sigma 24-70 f2.8 macro.
I seem to get great colours but the images seem soft.
I have tried a good cross section of iso,tv,av combinations,
but still seem to get soft images. Do you think I need to send for calibration.
Any ideas welcome, cheers pete.

Hi Pete
Welcome to TPF.

Hope you dont mind but Ive altered your title to draw attention to your plight, and moved to an area where youre more likely to get help with your question. :)

might help to post some samples, along with camera settings

oh and welcome:wave:

images would help!

Also, are you experiencing the problem across the focal range and at macro?

Post some more detail and we'll see what we can do

hi i will post some samples in near future but will be out of uk for a few weeks work.
however i have tried increasing contrast and sharpness in parameters but still seem to have that softness in the images.
i will try to put some basic images on the site asap.
thanks pete
ps i will check your gallery.

hi thanks for reply
i increased the contrast and shrpness in parameters but could see no noticable differance in cs2 using 100% enlargment.
yes to all focal lengths, bar macro this seems better [tripod used]
i will be out of uk for a few wks but will post some images on return
and contact you through TP.
Cheer's Pete

Manual focus or auto focus... My monitor is quite soft just because its really old, wereas newer makes such as my stepdads laptop are much sharper,

but i really cant tell without shots.

How many AF spots do you normally have enabled?
