Yes
I have just sent my siggy 10-20 off for it to be calibrated as I have been getting more and more frustrated with the amount of soft shots I was getting from it. Dead sharp in the middle and horribly soft on the left of the frame, has anybody else had this problem and any idea how long Sigma usually take, their service guy would not give me any idea.

Yep, mine has the same problem.

Should be sending it off within the next week, as it is very soft particularly one the right hand side.

That's a worry. I'm saving up to buy one of those. Was it used extensively before the problem occured?

Any chance you could post up some 100% crops so we can see the softness?

I am in the process of saving for one of these too..

Just done mine (well a 24-70 soft to right). took two weeks.

I emailed them after 2 weeks and asked when they would be returning it.. the email reply was that it had just been done and i would recieve it next day..

Always good service and good comms from sigmaUK .. no complaints..

you would have thought with all these softness issues that arise they would put more effort into getting it right in the first place....im sure its easier to make the lens correctly in the first place than it is to do remedial work...

Did the same with a lens a few years back, Sigma said "nothing wrong with it, but we replaced the optics and calibrated it as a courtesy" it was certainly better when I got it back.

For those buying or thinking of buying a Sigma you should be aware that their quality control is not great but their service centre in the UK is second to none.

All the more reason to buy one s/h, as I just did from Trip. That, and the fact that I now know where he lives ;)

This must really be a big problem for Sigma. I had the 24-70, that was also very soft.
Sigma took 3 weeks to sort it out. I must say though, that it was spot on when it was returned. But by then I had lost faith in the lens, and replaced it with a 24-105 is L

I have had my 10-20 for just over 12 months and noticed the softness in some of my shots. I did the very odd thing of taking a pic of a brick wall and the softness was really apparent in that. I explained the problem to the service chap at sigma and he agreed that it should not be like that and that as it was only just out of warranty they might fix it foc. I will wait and see. Anyhow I have 2 other sigma lenses and have no probs with them at all, just a bit of a b**ger that the most expensive one is the worst.
