Surprised to spot this in our local Sainsbury store as most shoppers use their own bags now, mind you the security guard had his eye on me while I took a few shots and started to walk towards me but I swiftly left before he had a chance to say anything, I just could not be bothered to listen to what he might have said, besides I had had enough attention from bemused shoppers in the cafe behind me:D

I think this shopper was just after kitchen bin liners.

I know Sainsburys have made a big thing of withdrawing plastic carrier bags from cash tills and encouraging customers to use their other types of bags.

Perhaps someone should tell their fruit and veg department? What are you given to put your loose fruit and veg in when making your selection? Plastic bags!

I think Ikea are one of the first retailers in this country to withdraw bags completely? Now you have to buy canvas or paper ones at the checkout if you want a bag I believe.

I haven't seen a plastic carrier bag in Ikea for many years (If at all). We usually buy the canvassy ones, they're pretty cheap anyway. Actually, thinking about it, they are plastic, but they are reusable.
