I own and operate two quite different and distinct businesses. There is absolutely no cross over, cross pollination or interaction between the two. Nor can there be for a number of reasons.

I'm beginning to get the hang of some social networking sites and tools and have already started to see some successes - of the seo variety. But before I move things onto the next level, I have to plan out the way forward.

Does anyone here have experience of creating a split personality - business wise? For example, having two LinkedIn accounts. I think that would be doable. Blogs for each business, that would be OK. But two twitter accounts?? What else should I be thinking about?

And I'm beginning to read that facebook doesn't really work for businesses. Anyone care to comment?

Thanks

John

i have 2 linked in accounts, it does work, you just need to remember which you log in on. Ive not set up anything on twitter or facebook as yet though, cant really see the point of advertising to all my friends, however if its getting a few more views for you SEO wise then maybe its worth a go.

Thanks, Matt.

Anyone else with experience of two accounts on any social networking site?

And does anyone have any experience of Head of the Curve, Ryze or Posterous?

What types of business are there and why social networking? To be honest I find the 'social media' term a big turn off and find while it may work for big businesses, who is going to come to me or find me - I too run two businesses, one baby photography and one doing b2b telemarketing.
