So Zack Arias is coming to the UK

The UK is 4 countries (well, three and a half), one of them being England. So, by coming to England, he is indeed coming to the UK.

Nice on Tiggaaar,

Get a grip guys...! This is not the thread, or even really the place to have arguments about this.

Don't bring up the Irish either..... :-)

LOL we look cool now :p

What the chuffin hell? Who gives a flying Firk at a rolling doughnut apart from the ones that lost all the wars that decided these things bloody years ago?

...and yes - what a bunch of pedantic retards we look... :cuckoo:

aaaah angry rob how I have missed thou :p

seriously guys, the UK is the Uk, lets not drag this off-course as my patience threshold is exceeded by some considerable distance. My nice filter is broken, and my tact filter is clogged, so its not going to be pretty if I do let go.

I've been drinking with my Army buddies in Berlin all weekend - nerves are frayed...how we didn't get arrested when we tried to 'borrow' a police car I do not know (we all had faux 'Politzei' t-shirts on and thought that entitled us to a company car to get us back to the hostel)...

BS & pedant tolerance is at an all-time low...

 that sounds like from a movie !

it's either you watch too much of them or inspire directors. although, not the german bunch i would guess.

Berlin's 'Bulle' are quite chilled... up to a point - then they go refreshingly old-skool on you at the drop of a pickelhaube...

refreshingly old-school  . I see similarities with britains pickelhaube's only they wouldn't maybe "get" you when you're doing something funny (not this case)

Sadly not but I had the pleasure of attending the mixer last night. Well attended (30 people or so) and a very relaxed host and family.

Hopefully drummed up some more business for TP as well

I'd have loved to have gone to the mixer, but being in Leicester it would have been difficult to get there after work :(
Still, thoroughly looking forward to tomorrow :) Will be a long day, but hopefully a superb day too :D

Holy thread resurrection, Batman ;)

I'm on tomorrow's course in London. Anyone else from here going? :)

Yep I'll be there tomorrow bright and early! Had a great time at the mixer last night meeting everyone, can't wait for the workshop. If it's half as good as the Creative Live broadcast there will be loads to learn!

Amazing!

What a great day. Such a great day, and I learnt loads. Never been on something like this before, but it was a great day, and everything was superb. You didn't feel like you were there to do a workshop, it was more like being able to use lighting and having Zack there to show you techniques, explain how to overcome things, and generally hang out. He genuinely seemed to enjoy being in our company. Meg popped in too and is a lovely woman, who enjoyed being around with us and saying hi to everyone. Even Danger Hawke made an appearance to dance around with the umbrellas.

Even got a photo of me shot by the man himself, (check zarias.com I think he caught me cute and cultured side!) and a website critique from him, which was harsh, fair and gave me several things to think about in terms of moving forward. Not only did I gain valuable lighting tips, I also got invaluable business advice from him, and even broodier when I saw Hawke running around.

I know it is expensive, but it really was a day I will never forget. Newcastle people you have a treat in store! Zack thanks for everything, and I hope to see you again sooner rather than later.

Does anyone know what time the Mixer kicks off at the Mushroom Works in Newcastle? (Also, is it at the Mushroom Works as there doesn't appear to be a bar there)?

Exactly the experience we got the day before as I was there for the Saturday and left at around 2am after sitting down with Zack for a critique which was incredibly positive (only removed 2 images from my portfolio) and has me shifting my focus toward more editorial work.

I got some great advice on where to focus next, and this is the first workshop / seminar / event I've come away not thinking I need to buy anything.
