So why does a OM2 have a reset?

You might all know I don't have a high regard for Olympus cameras having owned about five different ones.....well just loading a film and it jammed with the mirror stuck up, and batteries ok...I remembered something about reset and that cleared it.
So Olympus must have known this could happen (jam) so put this feature in, this doesn't inspire confidence for using a pro camera and AFAIK no other camera has this feature or needs it.

It's for when the battery dies and the photographer attempts to take a photo. The OM2 shutter relies on battery power to operate so it's a manual override.

Don't you know that Santa won't give pressies to naughty people who misbehave or RANT!:D:D ..............maybe he'll forgive you this time and drop a box full of OM bodies down your chimney! :ROFLMAO:

Well I checked the camera was working (inc battery check button) before I even put a film in and it shouldn't jam just loading the film for the first three frames how can you cock that up  Anyway you all might be thinking why I'm using the OM2, well with the hype about moonlit and low light shots thought I'd try it for the Xmas challenge on auto plus manual....I know the T90 and one or two other cameras I own are VG on auto, so will see how it goes.

:D

Gotta a spare OM2 also jammed and threw away the OM20 cos the manual shutter speeds didn't work and the only other camera make that I had with a few throw away bodies was the Konica FT1...don't buy this camera.
More Xmas moans :D

It could be worse.... You could have an OM2 SP that drains batteries even when it is switched off. Have taken mine out of the bag a few times now to take a photograph & had the mirror stick in the up position. Absolute pain in the......

Note to self. Must send OM1 off for that CLA soon.

The OM2 SP is nice when it is working fair enough but is a more hard work than the Nikon's that I shoot with most of the time.

..and forgot my other moan:- the winder cover on the OM2 fell on the floor, rolled somewhere and can't find it......OK it's not Olympus's fault :D Why did I take the winder cover off? well I was checking the batteries with a volt meter and unscrewed the wrong cover :oops: :$:banghead:

:wacky::facepalm: and all this is before a Christmas drink! :ROFLMAO:

To be fair, you don't know this for sure, Asha, he might have needed a few to get over the pre-Christmas stress (I know I have!)...

My Pentax 67 has a reset button as well.

The batteries last ages in my have OM 2. But my OM 4 isn't so good. I only needed to use the reset on the occasion after replacing batteries.

my OM2 doesn't have the dreaded battery drain either.....well so far after about 5 months.
