Love my bike......currently got a Triumph Street Triple 675R ......was a choice between MOT/warranty/service on the old one....or buy a new one.......Am determined to put more miles on this one......photography keeps getting in the way :banghead:

Zzr1200 for me, 81k miles at the moment, used most days for commuting. Been riding for many, many years, all my bikes get run to over 100k miles.Good girl

Difficult thread this one......
Almost three years ago to the day my motorcycling ended abruptly when a bloke in a Micra pulled on me.
The Blade fitted into a crisp packet - I had one or two serious injuries (!) which mean I won't be able to ride again.
Left femur broke in two places, left wrist was up near my elbow, right forearm mashed, right hand mashed, right knee tendons ripped and right pelvis cracked.
So the Superduke had to go and my wife decided to retire in support so her Supermoto went. She passed her test before I did and it was an amazing act of sacrifice.
However up until then the list was
KTM Superduke and early Blade for commuting
Buell XB1200, SV650 for tootling
Buell XB9
Guzzi V11 Sport Scura
Guzzi 1100 Sport
Guzzi Mk1 LeMans
Guzzi V50
Guzzi Convert
So there we go.
I'm about to start a new round of surgery and hopefully I'll at least be able to cycle again next summer.
So hear comes the preachy bit and if you don't agree I don't care - PLEASE WEAR A BACK PROTECTOR
The surgeons reckon that although I bust all the ancillaries the bit in the middle was saved by my back protector.
Must dash, one or two shots from Silverstone to process - still love the racing
Take care out there guys and please have loads of fun.

Really sorry to hear it Chris. I came off my ZX6R years back and was only TPFF. I was fine but the bike was creamed. I had to wait 2 years until the insurance was sorted, with no bike of my own. This was pre-kids and I was always on my bike so it was like having my arm cut off. So I really feel for you buddy, I really do. I wish you the very best with your recovery and hope you're cycling again soon. As for back protectors, I've got them in both jackets.

Yes mate not sure exactly what it's worth as I'll never sell it but it's quite rare now I don't see many two strokes now
it's great fun to ride its not that fast but definitely feels fast when you ride it
I used to have a GPz 550, and a mate had an LC350 and it could outdrag my bike all day long - but I did have the top end, if ever we had the patience.
My bikes were:
Honda C90 - Oh dear, not good - only£40 though.
Kawasaki AR80 - lovely little bike, needed 40 more bhp though
Kawasaki GPZ 550 UNITRAK - great bike, bulletproof motor - good for 130mph (autobahns obviously officer)
Honda VT250 - sweet, lovely bike, great engine, so smooth, and saw 100mph plus on the aforementioned autobahns.
Triumph Bonneville T140V - don't really know what to say. Not that smooth, rubbish brakes, had to bump start it always, quite slow.
GPz900R - very quick, dodgy handling, didn't keep it long enough really.

It's quite tidy but I picked it up from a mate who said he got if from someone that hadn't done anything to it. however I knew that's rubbish as soon as I tried to get it going as it's not wanted to start and after all the usual suspects stripped the engine to find too tight piston bore clearances, worn out clutch plates etc.
So, it's half way through the engine rebuild currently

Mate, that is one clean bike, I am quite sure that you can get the engine bits to finish it - good luck!
It sounds as if a rebore and new piston rings may sort it - heres hoping.

When I expressed an interest in bikes rather than cars, Mum said that if I got a bike, I would need to find a flat/bedsit so, once I had sorted accommodation...
Suzuki GP100
D7 Bantam (every biker should have had a Bantam at some point!)
Honda CG125 (on which I passed my test)
Suzuki GS550ET which I basically rode into the ground.
MZ 250 stinkwheel with a barn door fairing which reduced its already modest performance a lot!
At this point, a friend started working in the middle East as a civilian training a foreign power's military aircraft maintenance bods and needed somewhere to keep his bike and someone to keep the tyres round and the battery charged as well as the oil circulating. Since the beast in question was a well sorted Harley Shovelhead lowrider, I jumped at the chance and had custody of that for a couple of years until he came back. Just wish I had the cash to buy that bike when he sold it a few years later...
Some years later, I had a bit of spare cash and having always fancied a decent sized Brit single but wanting a little more reliability and some modernity, I bought myself a Royal Enfield Bullet 500 EFi which fitted the bill, although the Indian chrome is a bit cr@p! Still enjoy it from time to time but it has a stablemate in the shape of a Triumph Speedmaster - basically an 865cc Bonneville with an offset crank and custom styling, like me it's built for comfort rather than speed but is somewhat quicker than the RE (but so is practically any bike over 100cc!!!)
