Living in the north of Scotland, you tend to support either 1 of the ugly sisters (aka Rangers/Celtic) and an English top league team. At that time and at a tender age of 6, I picked on Celtic and Newcastle United. Celtic because it was my mothers team and made sense....Newcastle for no obvious reason what so ever other than I saw them on TV during Grandstand and went 'that's a great team, I'll follow them'. In hindsight, this is the obvious signs of poor selection which would plague me through the years of my life.
However, 2 years later in 1994, County and Caley gained membership into the SFL so I had a choice between 2 clubs to make. Having no strong ties to either clubs, my family took me to the opening home league game for Ross County on the basis that it was closer to home and my mother (the one interested in Football) didn't agree with what had happened across the waters in Inverness so we went to Vicky Park.
Since then it has been nothing but heartache interjected with glory followed by even more heartache. I wouldn't have it any other way though
