So who checks work email on hols

I give up wondering when there's nothing to wonder about.
What's the big deal?
I also rarely take time off....I struggle to use my allowance before years end.
I should start work at 8.30 but it's a rare day that im not here by 7.45. (And i drive 30 miles to get there), don't leave the office at lunch time very often and rarely leave on time.
These are things I choose to do.
Each to their own.

My employers are fine with that.:p

I've just been relating all this to my wife as she starts up her PC.
Well, she's trying to. She's forgotten her password and she's mad at me because she's forgotten it...

Wouldn't even dream of checking work email while on a (always well-deserved) break away from the place.... even if they paid me for it I wouldn't do it, as you're then expected to be contactable (basically on call without being paid for it) at any time......

Too much of this nonsense goes on in the UK.... If you return to work and there's a nightmare going on, so what, you just get on with it as you're now being paid for it.

Totally different if you're self-employed, obviously....

I can't access my work email outside of work. Emails are usually just updates or notification of meetings etc. and I can't remember the last time I actually received an email that warranted a reply.

As Llama apparently tastes like a cross between Beef and sheep, Wales seems the logical choice, one way or another he'll get stuffed :thumbs:

Unfortunately I live in the 'low lands' of south wales down by the cost but we could take Andy down the Gower for his last little run around or just in my back garden if open spaces could be an issue (quite a nice space for a condemned Llama)
 
I generally do keep an eye on things, make sure projects I am involved in are going smoothly, make sure my team are ok etc.

I alternate between having a complete break and a day or two off to checking to keep my sanity. Depends on the holiday really.

Another reason why I shouldn’t answer e-mails from home is I can't sppeellll (One for Andy)(y)

My wife grew up in south Wales. It was only when she was eight years old that she realised she could take her cagoule off.

Absolutely. Everyone knows that the two most essential ingredients of a Welsh BBQ are beer and a kagoul :-)
 
Many years ago before the days of email etc. I worked in Insurance.
I had to go exdirectory with my phone number because people would phone me at hoime
late night/weekends etc to get their car insured.
Try explaining ti someone that it can't be done, I didn't have access to the necessary stuff and couldn't
backdate it the next day.
As a result when I shut the door on work I forget it exists, luckily these days I don't have to worry about
the admin side of things, but there are still things people think you can help with regardless of day time

Just to add, both of the above are far more important than actual meat, as it's highly unlikely you'll ever get the BBQ lit!)

My Saturday job was working in an old fashioned ( proper) butchers, I think I can still remember how to joint a Lamb, Llama, so a decent family sized one should do it :thumbs:
