Hi All

Well for me I am going to put my yearly tickets I have for several of the wildlife parks in kent to good use I have thousands of shots already but I am going to attempt to compile an album come photo-book of these parks.

I am still trying to work out the format but I think it will be based upon species and month of the year. I am aiming to span all twelve months.

From the PP and workflow side of things I am going to force myself to master Aperture and finalize the restructuring of my library to something that makes sense now and will be robust enough for the future. At the present moment I have upwards of 12k worth of images.

If anyone has suggestions for my restructuring of my library please feel free to let me know I would be interested in how everyone else manages their vast amounts of images.

In addition if anyone would like to throw ideas into the mix for structuring my project please fire away.

Happy 2008 and photo op hunting..

Nigel.

I will probably spend most of my time photographing animals (again!). Local issues permitting, I am due to be returning to Kenya at the end of the month. I hope to do more with birds this year after really enjoying the Farnes last year. With a number of local places to go, I think I would like to extend my portfolio with stuff closer to home than the Masai Mara and Okavango Delta.

I'd like to try more landscapes, but fenland isn't that inspiring. I should try more pictures of people, but I've never really got on with that and will probably hide!

Birds, Animals and Nature for me. For 30 years I have been used to photographing Military Aircraft. They are normally quite predictable. Birds are not quite so accomodating the little buggers keep fliting about. planning, patience and luck definately come into play more. But I am enjoying the challenge.

Some More old buildings and church's i hope and to learn to use my camera more

I think a bit more british wildlife (i don't mean the toon on a friday night!!)

A big kick up the arse to get my head around photoshop and lightroom.

I would also like to build my confidence up abit by maybe street candids and also / maybe a bit of studio or portrait work.

Anything really but would like to do people (candids and posed portraits) and definitely more landscape and architecture. But before that try and understand the technical side better rather than relying on trial and error :D

Lol, me too, ^^ that’s what the chimping screens for after all.

I have a few photo Project collections to continue building.... like the floating plastic bag series, :D ... and a few other less serious ones. ;)

Starting a photo blog about the East End. ... In a few weeks after I've filled the archives with last years wanderings.
Titled; 'Tales of a wandering East London photographer and other short stories.'
I'll be a monthly regularly, with inserts popping in as I come across them.

I have also been invited to display in two galleries on a semi- permanent basis. So I must work out how best to display and get that done.

This year, I will be mostly shooting:
• Studio work, lifestyle studio portraiture of friends and family to build a portfolio up with a view of moving into this areas on a semi-pro basis
• Environmental lifestyle, same subjects as above and for the same reasons.
• Start environmental and studio work on comedians to add variety to my live work.
• Stock photography for agency sales
• Potentially look at doing some more sports stuff

That should be enough to be getting along with!

hopefully take some photos would be nice, (got cam at christmas, so no real photos yet)

For a few years now I've desperately wanted to shoot the Dakar Rally. Seeing as it starts in 5 days and I've not been hired to cover it yet, I guess 2008 wont be the year.

Perhaps 2009. :D

good job you didnt book your flights! Another win for the extremists (didnt want to call them terrorists as i have no idea of whats going on politically in mauritania)

I had a 3 year plan. 2008 is the third year.
2006 practice and learn how to shoot motorsport(done - although i'll always be practicing and learning)
2007 get motorsport photos published in printed media (done)
2008 get paid to shoot motorsport (already ahead of schedule ;) )

i could have done without getting my equipment stolen, but other than that, i'm very happy how well its gone

Primarily i want to get more creative with extreme sport photography.
Also i wouldnt mind give gig and street photography a go.
