So we did see something

If you knew the type of people that live in Alkborough then you'd know to ignore this report ;)

Hi Craig your PM box is full.....just tried to send a message:thumbs:

From the newspaper link

Lesley Whittingham (71), from Jerusalem Cottages, Alkborough, described seeing bright orange and yellow tints in the air at around 1.30pm (afternoon) on Saturday.

"It looked like a giant explosion in the sky and I was really surprised," she said.

That would be the sun, i know we have not seen it for a while but c'mon.........

Mrs Whittingham watched from her upstairs window with her husband Frank (78) as the stationary object was seen for five minutes before mysteriously disappearing.

Disappearing............... behind a cloud.........

So lets get this right. They think that aliens, who would have had to travel at light speed for over 4 earth years to get here if they came from the nearest star to us, entered our atmosphere, came a very small island on a primitive rock and went to lincolnshire without being detected and then accidentally crashed into a turbine before leaving?

If they could navigate space for that amount of time at those kind of speeds, enter our atmosphere undetected, I'm sure that they a) wouldn't come to a county comprised mainly of grass and b) wouldn't crash into a flipping wind turbine!

Totally agree with you Craig but if it were a normal aircraft (either civilian or military) then hitting one of those blades would surley disable an aircraft enough to make it crash or land nearby. Mind you if it were military then i'm sure they would be far too embarrased to admit they hit the turbine! :D

A military aircraft could hit a turbine blade and survive enough to get back to base and land safely.

Who knows, they may have deliberately flown into it to test that they could survive?

I work in the wind turbine industry and All aviation authorities including the radar authorities & MOD are invovled in the initial surveys and discusions about turbine siting.

That makes it pretty damn unlikely an aircraft struck one (cos they know it's there) unless you were well out of control which would then stack up with the theory that there would likely be wreckage of said aircraft not too far away.

It's most likely that blade one detached (material failure, very high wind speeds, avian impact (no avian corpse found though) etc, etc)) and impacted with blade two on it's way to "Earth" causing the damage to the intact blade.

I guess the Sun and a few (imaginative) locals had not a lot on that day

:lol: So very funny and most probably true as well

My thoughts exactly, the obvious answer is a failure of the blade with it impacting the second blade on the way down. Either that or some lad and an alien on a bike:thumbs:

LOL. I'd imagine a collision with a goose or similar sized bird could cause that sort of damage?

It's highly unlikely I admit as the blades on a 120m+ WTG, albeit "only" made of fibreglass, do weigh a few tonnes and are more likely to kill the bird outright leaving a corpse nearby with no damage to the blade.

As we know though, you do get some mighty big birds.....I mean the one in the chippy down our street is huge!!!!!!!!!!:lol:

God dont you know anyting. There is wormhole travel, warpspeed travel. So it would only take months to get here. And their brakes could have failed:p:p:p:p

If they knew how to open or use a wormhole without being vapourised or could manage warp-speed (captain!) I think they could navigate round a poxy turbine and the middle of grassland :D

Maybe they were too busy thinking about bigger things?? They may have thought they were further away!! (They may be bigger on their planet!) or MAYBE they were DRUNK!!!

You never know!! :naughty:

fraggle the report says they was ufo's with tenticles. now remember what i said earlier in your thread, about creatures that live in space, the equivilent of fish that live in the sea, and, the fact when it hit the turbine it sank to the ground for a while, just like when a dog runs into a door it blinks a lot and sinks to the floor, until it recovers enough to run off. and this seems with tenticles to be similar to a jelly fish or a squid, which is how i would see creatures that live in space... so perhaps rather than little green men, they are animals that live in space?

You don't think they could have come to take you home do you Ashers:lol:;)

Not necessarily - a 1 ton blade vs a 10kg bird = dead bird corpse becoming a feathered baseball and landing 1 mile away.

I grabbed a quick pic of a turbine blade on a trailer in the US. Look at the size of this thing

do i remember correctly that the blade wasnt found??? or have i got that wrong

it did say in the paper the blade wasnt found

i heard it was found 4000000 miles away in a town that hasnt been discovered and was standing upright with a phalic symbol painted on it in a new type of paint that no one has invented and that it now smells of Chicken Tonight!!

Correct!

However it turned out that students did it on the way home from a night out.

that photo has been stretched. The wheels on the truck arent even round.

I take it you're joking........yes??? Here's another view, with the escort vehicle behind it. And I have the original raw/dng files too for you to see should you still think I'm not being truthful

Is that the same size blade that was damaged? Thats huge!!

They said it could have been due to a build up of ice.. im sorry, but if it were that then there would have been more failing! also, were the other turbines covered in thick ice? it didn't seem so..

Personally, id LOVE to think that it was Alien Testicles, but its more likely to have been a catastrophic failure of that turbine.. when the blade came away its damaged the other blade on its way down..

It could be the distortion of the fence or maybe the lens, but the wheels on the tractor arent round and it (the tractor) doesnt look in the right proportion.
I thought you'd grabbed it from google and didnt realise it was your own photo. Wasnt accusing you of lying.

fraggle why do i reckon the day aliens land ull be first in the queue to meet them lol

That's ok. This was the last blade in a convoy. I missed the first couple because I was stood there, mouth open, thinking "WTF......???" before I grabbed the camera. Lens was a Canon 24-105L.

i think you might be in on this conspiracy, possibly you are one of the aliens or you work for the government and those are the pics of your colleagues taking away the secret blade for some anal probing, and you stretched it so we wouldnt realise it was the same blade! I'm on to you sunshine!! :)
