So Tottenham burns!

No point shutting down the network sites they use, they will be using that for evidence to convict the scum over the next few days/weeks/months. One good thing about these people being so retarded is most didn't use masks and a lot of them got caught red handed on cameras looting/rioting so it's just a matter of time before they get jailed. I agree with the rubber bullets/water cannon/army help but I think they will need to call a curfew to seperate the casual onlookers and thrill seekers from the hardcore scum before they take pot shots at people. Army help would be super, but they would need to just assist the police in rounding up the people actually seen rioting/looting or the pc brigade will start crying about innocent people getting caught up in the action.

Sky latest; Man in his 60's critically ill after clashing with rioters in Ealing.
There are already skirmishes breaking out this afternoon.
I feel so angry, these kids don't know what a hard life is! Many of them have designer clothes that I could never have afforded my children a few years ago. They do not deserve to draw breath.

Yes, I'm angry!

A baliclava...

I don't find that funny. It's a social networking site thats being used to organise illegal activity, shut it down and get over it

You want the Americans to shut down three major companies because of something that hardly merited a mention on most of their tv networks last night?

Yeah, I can see that happening

on that could I ask do the papers pay a corespondingly high sum for shots taken in dangerous situations (i've only ever sold shots to locals who dont seem to, but then i've never been in as much danger as you were yesterday), or do they just pay as usual, making your motivation more of the 'its my job to do this' vein ?

Standard rates apply!!!

The problem is that this sort of thing is media saturated, so unless you get that iconic shot that goes viral....etc

Putting on a balaclava I believe ;)

'Donning' = putting on

'Bally' = balaclava

I hate that I know the vernacular, one of the guards that worked for me in my shop was quite a bad lad and I now know a lot more street slang than I would ever want to know!

Sorry - sheltered upbringing:shake:

Never looked at t**ter either...ooops freudian slip:wave:

OMG, that is awful. What will it take before the government goes in hard? Dead police officers? Dead or maimed civilians? Those scumbags deserve to be strung up. I've got friends in some of the affected areas, I'm both frightened for them and very angry. I cannot imagine what it must be like for those poor people.

Why are the BBC and Sky saying these are "UK Riots"? There's been no disruption in Scotland, or Wales or NI, it's purely an English issue...

theres already been 1 fatality, the guy that was shot in croydon died earlier.

Yeah the information of what's been posted so far will be saved, and prosecutions can be made from it. What we need is to PREVENT any more, we need to stop further violence and arson attacks not sit back and watch and hope for arrests afterwards.

People standing by the sidelines are almost as guilty as those participating more directly, it's not a show for entertainment, it's not worthy of support. If they've got the balls to get close enough to watch they should have the balls to club together and take some of these guys out.

I have alot of respect for the police, and I really feel frustration for them that they aren't being allowed to utilise themselves properly, and have to sit back and watch. I wouldn't be able to do the job they're doing right now

We aren't dealing with criminal masterminds here.

There you go, displaying complete ignorance of the situation.

On Sunday that's exactly what was being dealt with - or at least organised gangs supported by scrotes.

Aaand If the riots started in Glasgow or Edinburgh it would be "Scottish Riots" not UK Riots

Guys, this isn't the time for that one :) We've got our own problems with neds, hopefully they're just not stupid enough to kick off here :(

In an ideal world they would distrupt the access to the network sites in certain areas, but again, pc brigade would be up in arms over internet censorship

I can't see that it's impossible to put a bar on the UK profiles, or access by UK providers.

I know they won't, and you're right of course. But yes, I would request it, it's being used to organise and solicite illegal activity, the authorities should be able to intervene and request reasonable assistance with this

Royally **** the PC Brigade, these guys don't have rights, they left them at their front door when they left their homes to go cause chaos. They deserve every consequence of their actions

We have friends holed up in their flat in Croydon,
Taxi cab pal who dare not go to work, he's just phoned me from his garden as he watches the Sony place smoulder.
Hubby dare not go to work in London. He works in construction and would normally park the vehicle in Barnet, get the tube and then walk with his tools to Tottenham.

Boris Johnson does not live in the real world!

Uncultured solution?? Do you really think we look cultured??
I can only think you are in a tweed conservative timewarp and has no idea of what real life is about. :bang:

Deterring and arresting them with more officers on the street is what is needed, not cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war.

Deterring them hahaha how are you going to do that!?? Arresting them is great as long as the CPS can follow through.

There you go, displaying complete ignorance of the situation.

Yes, I understand many criminal masterminds break into shops and raid tills that will have had their money banked hours earlier.

Just because the Daily Mail labeled someone a 'mastermind' for texting or telling people on twitter to break into Debenhams and steal shiny trinkets doesn't make it so.

Yes it does, it just means that you don't understand the use of the word "mastermind" in this context......

Unfortunately more officers will not be a deterrent unless those officers are given the powers to use appropriate force. The police and the local communities are being faced with violent criminals intent on destruction and at times assault and injury, if not attempted or actual murder. When faced with that the only deterrent is force of a kind which will stop the threat. The level of force needed must also leave a lasting impression, or it will have little effect as a deterrent now or into the future. This is the only way to prevent further deaths and injury. I'm afraid that if some of the criminals get hurt in the process it's just too bad, it's what they deserve at this point. Given the cells are now mostly full thanks to this whole business not being nipped in the bud on the first night, the chances of arrests are probably now much slimmer, so the authorities are likely to have to use measures of the 'strongest deterrent' variety if this is to be brought to an end and prevent the spread.

I'm watching the news and Boris Johnson is now being heckled by the community he is visiting. Those people have had enough.

Quote of the day on Sky...

"if these people think they have nothing they should travel the world"

Or media sensationalism, and hyperbole in full swing. 'Criminal mastermind' sounds so much more exotic and sinister than 'Man tells child to loot watch'. Can't be long now until the hackneyed 'modern day Fagin' is trotted out.

It's just kids with no respect

That's correct. For a whole generation now, more effort has been put into teaching kids their rights rather than teaching them respect.

Within a month, five and a half thousand people will pack into the epicentre of this atrocity (The Royal Albert Hall) with a little bit of red, white and blue paper glued to a lolly stick and sing three rousing choruses of Jerusalem and Land of Hope and Glory and the events of the past few nights will be forgotten by all except those who it directly touched.

OK, so the 4x4's and transits ready to take away the stolen gear on Saturday were a myth were they? The fences (some have labled them as pikeys) that were directing the looters to various locations, who supplied transport and ensured that the correct shops were targeted and the correct goods stolen were a complete fantasy?

BTW - who's talking about the Daily Mail? I'm talking about real knowledge from on location.

We now live in an MTV cellphone Facebook culture where many people in developed countries become psychotic if they don't get the attention they feel they deserve.

When I was young I was never bored - most parents expected their children to find something to do, be it useful or educational. This would usually involve going to my room and reading a book. Huh! A what?? Otherwise we resorted to a musical instrument or sports group. Imagine imposing any of that on some of today's kids.

Didn't we used to ship criminals off to the other side of the world? Surely there's room somewhere ....

BTW - who's talking about the Daily Mail? I'm talking about real knowledge from on location.

lol - that'll be the location you offered him the chance to go to but he turned you down because he doesnt need to go because he wont learn anything (rough translation he crapped himself at the thought of having to be brave in the real world, but doesnt even have the balls to say so) ;)

your wasting your time arguing with him mate, norters had the right of it earlier - walks like a troll, talks like a troll, leaves troll **** all over the place...

I vote for afghanistan - dump them in the middle of helmand, and leave them a supply of bricks and bottles with which to take on the tallitubbies- anyone who makes it back to bastion unscathed gets to go home ;)

So glad to so many people on this site and other sites that want a hard line on these low life useless waste of space *****s. (twits?)

Arresting after the event is pointless. CPS is a waste of space as it let 2/3rds off as not enough evidence etc.

Police should go heavy bash skulls and ask question after. tired of this Libreral Rainbow knitted Cardigan brigade.

'Sit them down and give then a good talking too!'

Wake up hippy civil rights freaks. this is mindless robbing and violence from low life loosers.

Nothing to do with Politics/Race/Religion or poor back ground.

It's time the Government listened to it's voters. These thugs do not have any rights in my book. soon as they mug/destroy/commit arson, basically ruin some elases life and lively hood its time to take out..... Prison is no good, wasting Tax payers money on keeping low lifes alive to come out and do more crime.

Lets send over to Afganistan so they can clear mine fields by walking across them. then make them walk back for good measure.

Thumbs up for the Turkisk community that fought back to protect their families and properties.

I'm so angry at how soft as a Nation we have become.

You need extreme punishment to detour these idiots. It will stop 90% of them. Only the hard core would ever go against the law faced with capital punishment.

Do I care why it started? NO! no excuses for any reason. Punish those for wrecking others lives.

Let them get awy with it this time and then what?

The 'Great' has fallen from Britain.

Have you seen the film 'Battle Royale'? Same kind of thing, looking into the dark recesses of the future, you can see things going that way ...

Your argument seems to boil down to 'releasing' the police from one of their principles thus creating more carnage and resentment. It's a simplistic and uncultured solution.

Were you born a T..T or is it something you have practised?

Given that a lot of them have probably just come from there, illegally, that would solve two problems at once :)
