Jeez! ..... You really do live in a world of fluffy kittens and puppy dog tails!

Not needed :shake: he was pointing out that this on going thuggery is still the minority and there are still decent people out there

Living in a blue sky world when it's ****ing down is pretty pointless ;)

I agree, in all the madness, we have to remember there are also good people who live in these communities

No I live in a world where even in grave circumstances human decency is still to be found. Sorry that isn't right wing enough for you.

See previous post....... There's plenty of gold on the beach, enough to make you rich...... You just have to look very hard to find it... but it's there ;)

Anyone listening to Sky news..... they are now in Catford, Dulwich, Woolwich, Ealing, Camden, Ilford, Peckham, Colliers Wood..... now fires in Clapham and according to Sky no police on the scene yet.
Poor 80 odd year old woman woke up in her Ealing home where a rioter had broken in and was standing over her! More homes in Ealing now be broken in to, people being forced to run from their homes in sheer terror.

There is no excuse for this disgusting behaviour, these people are scum, worthless scum!
If they want to behave like animals they should be treated as animals.

Appaently sources on twitter saying the army are forming in London

They can call in The Cavalry...oh hang on they're already based in London. They'd be ideal...full on cavalry charge with those horse drawn guns.

As much as it upsets me to say so, no I don't think it would. Mainly because of all the left wing liberal lentil munching, anarchist, tree hugging, soap dodging, crystal waving, bongo bashing, **** stirring ******s out there.

I'm one of these :D

BUT.

On this matter I firmly believe that the army needs to be deployed and a curfew introduced. Marshal law needs to be set in place until every single innocent person affected by the abhorrent behaviour of these rioters (protestors?! don't make me ****ing laugh) has been rescued.

To the people in the thread bashing the police. Behave yourselves. The little toerag had a gun. You do not carry a gun unless you intend to use it. That makes you fair game I'm afraid. I'd rather you got riddled with a thousand bullets than you get a chance of shooting a member of the public. 'Waaah waaaah waaaah, he was somebody's baby boy' etc. So what. A horrible little scumbag has been taken off the streets permanently and for that I think the people of Tottenham should be thankful.

Sorry if this sounds a little insensitive but there are people who have lost everything. A friend of mine is currently trapped inside a Tesco store because a load of bellends have decided that they REALLY need some wotsits and milkshakes. There are photographs of women leaping from first story flats to escape death by fire. If ANYBODY shows ANY sympathy for the people involved in this heinous violence for violence sake, then you are just as ****ing bad as them.

Sorry for my curse words.

On a lighter note, I had a lovely lunch in a cafe in Toxteth today.

Indeed! .... Sadly those who stand to justify the behaviour of the bad minority have forgotten this

Norters - I hope your mate is safe, it worried me a lot earlier when I heard my cousin, her sister and two small children were trying to make their way back through Lewisham to home and reading my friend's facebook status updates that are in Woolwich

:shake: not good

If you know that for a fact get in contact with the BBC.

No I obviously don't but the odds are thats correct. He had an illegal gun, he was a gang member with the notorious Star gang and was a known drug dealer. Wake up and smell the coffee. I have no doubt you would have a different view if he'd been supplying your children.

I'm all for giving people a chance but you cannot help those who refuse to help themselves period. :'(

Very sad that you have such a gloomy out look, I for one love this country and the shining examples of humanity that even in the current situations should still shine through

PM me what you said.
No, for these two reasons. One of the mods deemed it unsuitable and, the second reason, I'm on my iPhone and hate typing on it. Suffice it to say , I don't hold you in high esteem.
:)

What kind of parents bring up kids like this, seriously. What kind of people think this is funny! Its gone too far now and the government need to crack down, and by that I mean do whatever it takes. Water canons, rubber bullets, tear gas and follow this up with a national campaign to identify the yobs later. Full on early morning police raids, kicking in the doors of the parents houses and see how they like it.

I'm sure the latter part of what you say will happen. I believe this is now what they do with football hooligans. Contain to a certain extent, video, identify afterwards then prosecute. It appears to work well but of course is a way of dealing with a more 'consistent' issue.

I live in Lewisham with my wife and 7 month old baby. My sister lives in Willesden near with her 2 month old. She is wondering whether to leave their house for a day or so as she has some issues near here. My wife was due to go to Lewisham centre today but opted to wait til tomorrow thankfully (we live far enough from the actual trouble from today). I know there are rules on swearing here, so politely I'm not pleased the people closest to me are scared to leave the house. On a lesser note I'm miffed all she shops were closed near me and I could not get any milk!

It's easy to have an emotional reaction - shoot them, give them a good kicking etc. Part of me certainly feels that way. There is no justification whatsoever for what is happening, people lives are being put at risk and businesses destroyed for no good reason other than pure violence.

That said, we are where we are. What I want is for the streets to be safe again, and for the people responsible to be punished. The question I'm sure the Met are asking themselves is how best to achieve both, as quickly as possible. No doubt they are slightly scarred by all the bad press from the G20.

One thing for sure, people cannot be allowed to loot, damage property unchecked. How to address this without escalating things further \ risking bystanders. I note the police have been pleading for those bystanders to go home which makes me wonder whether if it was solely the rioters out they might be dealing with things differently.

I don't know the answer and am happy to put my faith in the Met who will have studied similar situations many more times than I.

Well there's your answer.

But what evidence to you have to backup your stance in this thread, as I have seen no confirmed evidence from you other than rumour and conjecture, please don't say others are wrong when you have nothing to give your own stance and credence

Boo hoo, you're breaking my heart.

Pointing out a few positives in a sea of negatives deserves belittling? Not good. :shake:

It does if the positives (as you call them) are designed to detract from the actions of the scum ...

I don't know if Mark Duggan did or didn't shoot at the police or go for his gun, other people seem to be sure though.

Boo hoo, you're breaking my heart.

But he's not breaking the rules now so leave it

It's been said a few times now in this thread, keep it on track and civilised otherwise there'll be closures and suspensions

Unbelievable, we have press on the streets scared to film for fear of attack. The Sky News reporter resorted to filming on his iphone an was attacked. It just doesn't get anymore lawless than that.
