I thought we already have that addressed, e.g.
- My daughter and son-in-law couldn't get a flat after they married because it was given to a young unmarried mother - it's common knowledge that all you need to do to get a home is get pregnant.
- Schools can't do winners and losers anymore, everyone has to be winners, helps them adjust to the 'real world' ... get it by looting.
- Scroungers can get mega-bucks for their 13 kids and 'council' accommodation in Chelsea, whilst pensioners can't get home care.
I could go on but I'm sure you get my drift - I'm all for social equality - let everyone stand on their own two feet like I have to do.
Seeing as this is meant to be a photography forum:
London has gone feral:
Peckham
Lewisham
Clapham Junction
Croydon
Bromley
and that's just south.
My iPhone was grabbed & pulling out to file was almost as, if not more dangerous than being there. I've endexed for the night as it's just too dangerous to have camera kit in any area. Similar reports are coming in from photographers across London.
This has absolutely nothing to do with last weeks shooting, it's plain old fashioned mayhem.
The building that went up was a baby linen shop!
Pretty sure we saw you getting moved on by the police earlier when the helicopter was over
If it was Peckham, then it was me. There was only myself and a mate there, giving each other backup.
BBC News 24 has said that Cameron is coming home and holding a COBRA meeting tomorrow.
I always doAh! .... So that's why he's been so quiet in this thread .... Do you think he will he be wearing Pink for the meet?![]()
I knew he was behind this![]()
And you two can hiss off as wellbrilliant, I just realised what I posted.

PS: 'moved on' isn't exactly how I'd phrase it!![]()
You're not grasping any of this, are you? The Police can't be in contact with the victim's family as they are the alledged perpetrators of a potential crime, ergo in such instances it is the IPCC that take on the role normally undertaken by the police.
Come on now, you know I'm not talking about this kind of stuff (which we can all agree are serious issues). I'm talking about prejudice and discrimination, deep class divisions, lack of access to affordable education, and so on. I don't claim to have any solutions to these problems, but for too long they've been swept under the carpet.
I honestly don't understand why people say stuff like this - in what way are the rights of criminals considered more important than those of the victim? A bunch of people have now said that, and honestly it's the kind of thing I expect to read on The Daily Mail. Please explain to me how this is the case, because I really don't get it. I'm also genuinely curious to hear your ideas for punishing and especially deterring crime.
.
Come on now, you know I'm not talking about this kind of stuff.
Police apologise to Mark Duggan's family for failing to keep them informed
What was that you were saying?
The Metropolitan police apologised to the family on Monday, having earlier said that once the IPCC takes over an investigation, they also take over the role of family support.
....the force waited too long before telling the IPCC the family wanted to see them.
prejudice, discrimination, deep class divisions, lack of access to affordable education.
What has any of the above to do with the scum on the streets? .... Keep trying to justify their behaviour and rationalise it as everyone else's fault but theirs..... absolute madness![]()
Why not?
Why are you trying to defend the actions of these scums by suggesting that it's all down to poor living conditions and the like.
When I was young my dad died and I and my sister often ate bread and dripping from the proceeds of my mums hard work cleaning and trying to make ends meet amidst her depression.
Did we all go burning our home town and looting the shops?
No, we knuckled down and made a life for ourselves not expecting anyone to give us a living.
Burning, looting and putting others lives at risk isn't a consequence of social depravation it's a lack of self discipline and self respect.
well for example what about all the handwringing for folks like you and laudrup about poor mark duggan getting shot
Where am I DEFENDING their actions? WHERE?!
Christ, I obviously made a mistake thinking that an intelligent discussion could actually be had here.
apparently, according to a couple of social networking sites and from relatives near to the area who have their own relatives in the Met...... basically the police are waiting for Theresa May to sign a bit of paper to give them the "go ahead...... ".....
sign it.. sign it....
Where am I DEFENDING their actions? WHERE?!
When you look at these hooligans, there's almost always a long line of problems, starting from poverty and poor parenting which leads to a lack of discipline, education and a respect for others, leading up to their criminality.
Excuse me, but where am I "justifying" their behaviour? See, this is why no constructive discussion can be had here; because most of you are simply intent on painting those who look to the root of the problem as justifying what they're doing, while ignoring what we're actually saying.
You don't actually want to understand what I am saying, so you intentionally misread my (and other) posts instead. Well done.

if on the first night the police had been authorised to crush the riots with full force brough to bear imediately none of these copycats would have happened
I am not even going to bother reading the rest of your post because you're not doing me the favour of actually reading what I am saying either.
I'm out of this discussion because it's completely pointless.
well for example what about all the handwringing for folks like you and laudrup about poor mark duggan getting shot - even though it was his own choice to go out on the streets with a gun and all the justification and apologists for the nasty little scrotes who are out there with petrol bombs -
what about the rights of the people who's homes and buisnesses have gone up in smoke , what about the rights of the 35 police officers who have been injured policing the riots thus far, and the innocent motorists who are being attacked just trying to get home.
and as far as detering crime goes , for a start put a lid on these riots with water cannon, rubber bullets, tear gas and if necessary live rounds then get blackberry, twitter etc to hand over the details of the ring leaders and make an example pour le encourage les autres
and in the wider sense stop spending more on housing for prisoners than we do on care homes for the elderly
stop spending more on treatment for criminals than we do on treatment of wounded soilders
for minor crimes clearly prison isnt appropriate but boot camp short sharp shock chain gang community service etc , stop worrying about whether punishment is degrading - punishment is supposed to be ****ing degrading thats why its a punishment.
Well they weren't, so they have. What's the solution now?

I'm reading what you are saying, i just dont agree with it - you clearly arent reading what im saying because i said "people like you and laudrup" (and he spent several pages arguing that poor mark duggan was a victim of the nasty oppresive police - you've spent several pages making excuses for the rioters , and i'm saying **** the rioters what about their victims !)
What's the weather like in Daily Mail land?
Crush the riots now before we get more copy cats and so on arround - the more we mince about the more the nasty little scrotes in society think they can give authority the finger.
Well they weren't, so they have. What's the solution now?
