All done bar tidying up/one more coat of paint and adding the bracket to attach to the camera base, but now useable.

Sorry for the crap pics, its really dark in this room.
Used a £1.99 plastic bowl, a cardboard mini cheddars tube (free), a plastic wallet/folder thing cut up (free) for the diffuser and some primer that cost a quid.
Seems to take a good enough photo but im not really up on my ringflashes.
 
Better put together some full build instructions :thumbs:
 
great idea. have a white plastic bowl that might work. probably get some light spill

Your going to have to run a little test to see how far it will reach, my guessing is it will be at its most effective in close quarters. I've seen similar builds for studio strobes using mixing bowls, would be interesting to see some nice results
 
Nice one, looks pretty cool and the results are impressive also. I would also love to see the build info for it if possible. I'm a complete muppet at building bits and pieces but I'd be definitely up for giving this a wee try. :thumbs:
 
you could maybe do a monthly magazine in 60 parts for £4.99 and each issue you get part of the ringflash.:lol:
