Hi everyone,
As you've guessed by the title I am new around here, In fact i'm new to the world of DSLR's.
I have often been told that I take a good photo when using a snapshot camera, and I do have to agree, i've taken some crackers, so I have debated for a while whether to upgrade to a DSLR. Then my partner who is a VW enthusiast discovered he was very good at wrapping various objects in carbon fibre but this doesn't photograph with a snapshot camera. The final straw, he sent his car to the paint shop, so now i want some pretty amazing pictures not just ok one's of his car.
Due to the above I went out last weekend and treated us to a Nikon D5000, We are now getting to grips with the functions and are trawling the local area for places to go and snap some pictures. I have started looking at photo editing software and am having a go with it in the evenings as a mag I picked up has a photoshop tutorial.
So what are the esstials we need? We have a standard Nikon VR lens, a uv filter and of course a bag, a trial of photo shop, Is there anything eles we need to start off with?
We are considering a tri-pod but it's finding the right one as it needs to be portable to carry around the show feilds!
Look forward to chatting with you all
