So I have a Motive...

Ok something that's within your normal spend limits

I already have it - a D810 :) I don't need anything enormously fast so no need of a D5. But I like Fuji so the GFX50 sounds like a winner. Only thing is there's no price been announced other than "well under $10000" so I'm hoping it'll be £300, although I'm expecting to be hugely disappointed.

I'm thinking of using this for street and shooting the kids, but still keeping the 5D :)

In that case take a look at the Panny GX80. There's £100 cashback at the mo which makes the end price of £347 for the body a good deal.

I have the older generation GX7 and G7 and they're lightening fast. The GXx cameras are RF style and coat pocketable with a small prime or the tiny 14-42mm mega OIS kit zoom.

well ive got a canon setup but thinking of a Fuji xt-1 or xt-2 to see if I get on better with a lighter setup ..

If you want a street camera why not consider the Fuji X100T, or go for something really special and get the Leica Q?

Leica Q well out of my budget :(

That's a matter of opinion :p

Yep! Just buy a Sony RX1 (mk1 or 2) better sensor at a fraction of the price (well, 2/3, which I suppose technically is a fraction!) [emoji3]

I prefer the rendering of the Leica lens over the Zeiss, and I don't like Sony colours.

This is something that doesn't concern me. I shoot raw not JPEG and once the raw is on my pc red could be made blue if I wanted so minor differences in colour between one camera and another haven't worried me for a long time. Differences between lenses are character.

I just got fed up having to tweak the colours in post when shooting Sony, made processing much more time consuming and often couldn't get it exactly how I wanted. Obviously YMMV.

Lazy Boy! :D

If it bothers you all you need to do is set up a preset and batch process anything you import. Remember the lens profile too. This is what I do not for colour but for sharpening and noise reduction and I then typically spend a few seconds to a minute processing each shot for stuff like straightening, exposure and the rest which varies from shot to shot. I've never been offended by Sony colours though but this is obviously a personal taste thing.

I do have presets but often it will vary from scene to scene and so there's not one preset that works for all images. Why make your work harder than it needs to be :p

Because no camera does it all and gets it all right all the time.

I do see your point it's just that I've never used a camera and thought that the colours were a deal breaker and this is from someone who makes an extremely OCD thing look like something that isn't in the slightest. Glad to meet someone worse! :D

True but loving the images that i have seen fro the Xt2.

ok.

My reasoning behind the thread, was to help me make my mind up really.

I have been after a fast long lens, to be more specific the canon 70-200mm f2.8 ll

But I really like the look of The new Fuji Xt2.

Massive indecision moment - The question I keep asking myself which one would i get the most use out of...

so I was just seeing how many people are after the fuji

daft it may seem I know but was seeing what people camera they would by next alongside/ replace there current kit

I haven't used my 70-200 f2.8 in over a year, but I use the X-T2 as often as I can. Does that help ? (I run a 6D & a 7D2 along with an X-T1 & X-T2)....

Yes it does alot :-)

P.s fancy selling the 70-200 f2.8 hahaha......

Well, are we allowed sell it later? :D Then I'm obviously going to have a Hasselblad! if we actually have to keep it for X amount of years and it's the only camera we're allowed? Fuji XT-2 with all the trimmings [A grip, all the juiciest lenses etc ]

Good reply,

Yes to the 1st question - (good investment)

XT2 seems to be a forum favourite ;)

By looking at the spec, XT2 is more of my choice but for DSLR I would get D5 to replace my D3. At moment I looking to sell my D700 for the XT1.

Fuji XT-2 :D having moved from the Sony A7RII.

Sounds like you want somebody to tell you to buy an XT2 so if I were you I'd buy an XT2 :D

Money no object? A GFX50 as said above perhaps, would have to include some lenses though! A couple of D5's wouldn't go amiss either :D

Ha ha you may be right. [emoji106]

Are you regretting your 5d3 purchase Matty? [emoji23]

Haha no not at all Chris, i was just curious and have a serious GAS problem [emoji85]

My next purchase will definitely be another L lens.

But having seen some of the xt2 reviews I was impressed!

And got me thinking [emoji106]

Tell the Missus first this time though won't you!

Aye yeah, was reading through the forum on Saturday, it seems I'm not the only one

I quote

Mrs : Is that a new camera?
Me: No I've had this one a while with an old lens on the front

Seems the way forward [emoji106]

No on a serious note it's been dropped in on a number of occasions already.
