Very easy:
1. Have Lightroom installed on the new pc
2. Ideally all your images should be on an external HD in which just plug that HD into the new pc. If they are not on an external drive you will have to copy the images frm the old pc to new.
3. on the old pc go to start > search and enter *.lrdb and copy this to the new pc [preferably into the same folder where the images in 2 above are held.
4. Double click on the lrdb file and it will open up lightroom and use that database file.
If, when lightroom opens you have a ? in rH of image when you are in the library module, Right click on the ? and locate the required image file.
5. On the old pc locate the lightroom preset folder and copy to the same location on the new pc.
It sounds a lot more complicated than it actually is

It is easy to migrate Lightroom PC to Mac, so I can imagine PC to PC is just as easy. It is like loading a backup database...

that procedure is for the images themselves plus side-car files (xml's etc) how about settings and presets etc?

Looks like you can just copy the files from:
C:\Documents and Settings\07349\Application Data\Adobe\Lightroom
Has Templates, presets, preferences, etc...
And I couldn't find *.lrdb.. looks like mine is *.lrcat?

Must have. I also didn't realize how big the backup files were. Had around 2gb's of backups going back several months... Will have to remember to clean that up some. lol

I'm having another issue with my RAID drive.. It came config'd as a RAID 0, but I want a RAID 1. Supposedly by the instructions, I should be able to migrate it to a RAID 1, but it's not really looking like it's that easy.
From what I've gathered I need to reinstall the OS and reconfig the RAID format. Which sucks.
Any thoughts?
