So how do you store your kit?

For me the bulk of it sits in four camera bags!

The carry round bag - With camera and current lens + usually two more and a flash (when going out extras lens banished to the desk or another bag)
The bigie bag - more lenses, my daughters camera + oddments
The flash bag - two more flashes + little flash stuff
The macro bag - MP-E65 + dual flash

Its all disorganised but well looked after.

So whats your method?

I bought a desk specific for storing gear when not in use - the missus was cracking up over bits and bobs all over the house As I'm sure many a photographer's wife/girlfriend feels.

I store lesser used stuff like my reflectors, spare flash, extra packs of batteries, brollies, grip, all that kind of stuff in the drawers of that. I have an Airport security bag that holds some more, [though I've just sold that] and the camera and currently used lenses just go in my shoulder bag. They live in there 99% of the time. I make sure to keep it dry, changing the silica gel packs now and then, keeping the bag out of reach of the kids ...

Looking at slightly better/larger shoulder bags at present. As the one I have now is a bit tight for my most used gear.

I bought a book case with doors and store all my gear in it.

All the boxes from my cam, lenses and flashes are on a book shelf in the spare room I keep getting told to move them, but ... ach, some day.

In a cupboard in my study with 3 shelves, along with some stationery & printer supplies.

Bags & Tripod live on the base shelf.

The DSLR kit all lives in a LowePro MiniTrekker ready for action - grab and go! If I want to take a reduced kit, I can stick the body and a couple of lenses into a Top Loader to travel light. My selection of more compact options is currently dangling off my "Tech Tree" - a standard lamp made from a section of stragler fig but can all be stuffed into a RedSnapper bag for transport en masse (to keep it tidy more than anything!). Other stuff (film SLRs, rangefinders etc) lives in a selection of cupboardry and drawer units, with tripods living in their bags in the cupboard under the stairs.

I bought the biggest bag I could find, a Tamrac Super Pro 14, and keep all my gear in that. It's big enough for 2 gripped bodies with a 24-70 and a 70-200 attached to go down the centre, 6 other lenses ranging from a 35 f2 to a 150-500 OS, a couple of flashes and a couple of converters. All the cards, filters and batteries etc are kept in the pockets on the outside and it sits in a corner of the living room for easy access. I should still have room in there for a 17-40 lens as well when I can afford it so it was a bag well worth getting. I just use a messenger bag if I'm going out with just 1 body and 1 or 2 lenses though as the Tamrac does get very heavy when it's fully laden.

In one or two camera bags and they are kept in a large plastic box with lid - and dehumidifier things inside keep it at 30% or lower.
